I ended up staying at this hotel because my flight was cancelled and my ride from Blacksburg, VA had already left. The hotel was clean and the people were nice enough but there was nothing special about it. Most hotels I've stayed at have some little POP or something that makes them unique but this hotel was pretty blah. I just needed a bed for one night though so it worked.

This property is a bit older with exterior entrances to rooms, but the premises are well maintained. The room was clean and bedding was up to current Hampton standards. We were looking for something convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway ... not sure this really fit that bill, but the maps and guides related to the BRP are not the most informative. The stay was fine and breakfast was up to, if not perhaps better than, typical Hampton standards.

Room Tip: Be aware that all rooms have exterior entrances. Close to lobby seems better to me than something o...

This Hampton Inn is right by Highway 81 and close to several restaurants. The room was spacious and very well appointed. We only stayed one night but I would have been happy if I had stayed longer. The staff was very friendly and courteous, the breakfast is in a very attractive lobby and had lots to choose from. The nightly rate with CAA/AAA discount was $89.99 plus tax. If you consider the cost of breakfast in a restaurant and factor this into the price, this was quite reasonable. Not only did we have breakfast in the lobby, but they gave us two bags of food to take with us on the drive. The highway side has the view - we were on the other side, which was very quiet. They also have an exercise room and guest laundry facilities.

When I arrived, I thought I might not really be at a Hampton, but after checking in, I realized that everything that counts is up to Hampton standards. The lobby and breakfast area look like any other Hampton and the staff is excellent. The odd thing about the hotel is that the rooms have doors opening onto the parking lot instead of an interior corridor. If you are on the first floor, this is actually better when unloading and loading your car. Our first floor king room was spacious and clean. The bathroom not only had a good tub/shower, but also had a separate large shower stall. The bed was comfortable. This hotel has the kind of fan on the heat/cool vent that will stay on continuously to provide a little noise to cover up noise from other rooms or the parking lot. The breakfast was up to Hampton standards, but didn't have bananas. I appreciate the skim milk choice.

This Hampton inn is very dated inside and out. The man at the front desk was extremely pleasent and the stay was ok however I was a bit nervous staying in this room. As soon as I entered the room I saw a stink bug crawling up the wall. The furniture is extremely old, the bed was not comfortable and the overall appearance of this hotel is avg at best. There are several nicer hotels in the area that are much newer.

Stayed during the State HS Wrestling Tournament. An older, basic Hampton Inn. Exterior room enterances and starting to get a bit tired. OK now, yet watch in a year or two. Breakfast was good.

I frequently travel for business and this Hampton Inn is a great example of simple customer service at it's best. The staff is always trying to make your stay the best it can be, they recognize you and acknowledge (appreciate) your staying with them. This morning the lady at the front desk asked me if I had AAA and gave me a lower rate. She then apologized for not getting this right at check-in. Also, the rooms are very comfortable with upgraded amenities.

Room Tip: I have had them all over this hotel. The front side does face the hwy so the noise is slightly highe...
