“Not for the savvy Traveler”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

Stayed at this place on Business twice. Just not up to Choice standards. Not even close. The Manager offered me a $59 rate for a King/Non-Smoking room. Where do I start?
1.) Limited TV Channels. No History Channel, No MSNBC, poor quality television.
2.) Terrible Internet WiFi. Extremely slow, and wouldn't pass outgoing email.
3.) Breakfast was free, of course, but un-appetizing.
4.) Worn, dated bedding with sheets that were worn thin by years of use.

Over-all, the place was clean enough, I suppose, but really is not for a traveler with anything other than basic requirements. Nice enough folks doing their best with what they have, but I just would not recommend this place. Several better alternatives in the area.

Room Tip: This is a converted OLD Holiday Inn, I think, with the aluminum-framed windows and jimmy marks on ev...

Reserved room for two different nights through Quality Inn website six weeks in advance as I needed a crib.
First stay was sub par with the following problems:
Broken air conditioner
Telephone not working so could not call front desk for towels or wake up call.
Outlet behind the bed (going to use for phone charging) had no cover plate and the outlet was not even even screwed into metal box.
Non smoking room had smoke odor
Maid service in the morning smoking while cleaning
No ice in ice machine at 8:30 AM
High chairs filled with grime.
Only two towels in room for a reservation for a family of four. Took three trips to front desk to get them. -wait time for towels – 1.5 hours
Pool did not have towels so only two towels in room is even more of a problem.

Against better judgement returned following week. Because upon check out the front desk was helpful and confirmed they would have crib available for next stay.
Arrived at 6:15 pm the following week and no crib available. Front desk staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Did not know corporates number to find another hotel with a crib.

Where to begin?? The room says "No Smoking" on the room door, but there's an ashtray on the desk and the room reeked. I've been to casinos in Las Vegas that smelled of less smoke than this room. Sadly, the manager didn't have anything else to offer and I stayed in the room. I didn't sleep well because of the smell, and I woke up with a headache.

The room is old, dirty and full of hazards. I unplugged the radio to plug in my phone and sparks popped out of the outlet. The cord was frayed and shorted out. The lamp shades were stained and torn. Poor lighting in bathroom and vanity. Bedding was old and dated. And if course smelled of smoke.

There were dead bugs behind the toilet. The air conditioner had a stale smell and didnt have a fan-only option.

The free breakfast was ok, but very picked-over at 9 AM on Sunday morning, with no one checking to restock basics like skim milk or fruit.

To add insult to injury, I made my reservation through Priceline. They booked me at this dump for $85 per night, while the hotel's website was charging $70 per night. Got that straightened out, but what a hassle!!

The only positive I can offer was that the outdoor pool was nice.

We HAD a
King smoking room, the room does need to be refurbished as do other ares of this motel. The breakfast was very good with bacon and scrambled eggs along with the normal Quality inn items. The staff was very helpful. One thing nice was we could get dinner there as there are few places near. The rate on the room was reasonable.

Dirty linen, bugs in the rooms, mold and mildew smells, stained and dirty furniture and carpet, mold and mildew in the bathroom, dirty towels and washclothes leftover from previous guests, used body products still left in tub/shower area and hair particles left around the sink and bathroom area. The air conditioning unit smoked and made a horrible noise when turned on.

When proof was presented to management we were offered half off for the night, and no one ever showed to clean the room after several visits to the front desk.

When asked to be moved to a better room for the third time, the conditions were worst than the last.

Don't let the pictures that were posted on the Internet fool you.

No wonder this a pet friendly hotel, because that the only think that this establishment is suitable for. We ran as fast as we could!

Everything (breakfast bar, rooms and conference areas) is out of date and run down.

Unsatisfied stay!

Room Tip: Choose another venue or sleep in your car!

Brandon S, General Manager at Quality Inn Roanoke Airport, responded to this review, June 2, 2012
It is never easy to get less-than-complimentary feedback on a guest's experience at our hotel. However, all feedback is welcomed as it can be used to better train our team and to enable us to achieve a higher level of guest satisfaction.

Upon receiving your feedback about your stay, we immediately reviewed your comments with our maintenance engineer, housekeeping staff, front desk staff and breakfast bar team. Our goal is to provide a great product where everything operates as it should and where our service standards “wow” our guests. Unfortunately, we seem to have missed the mark during your stay. We have discussed your concerns with the staff and are confident that future guests will not encounter the same concerns. We proactively solicit feedback from our guests through comment cards and surveys, and overall the majority of our guests express satisfaction with the product and with the service they receive from our staff.

We do hope that you will visit us again in the future and allow us an opportunity to turn that stay into a “Wow!” stay.

Good for a quick stay. Location was good. Quick to interstate and food. Small tv though. Room somewhat tight. Friendly service.
