“GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

Lively and beautiful property. spacious rooms with comfortable bed. Hotel manager is a great guy. very personable service. I left my phone charger home he gave me his to use that he had spare since we both had the same phone. While leaving I went to return him his charger and he asked me to keep it. Thank you very much. i will never stay anyhwere else when I visit Roanoke.

An older property in need of some renovation, but the staff was friendly and accommodating and the rooms were clean and comfortable. A nice, firm bed and quiet atmosphere made for a great night's sleep.

Howard Johnson was the closest hotel from the airport as I wanted to spend only a night to catch another flight. Room was in a good shape and included a TV, microwave, coffee maker and fridge. Bathroom was clean and included hair dryer and many towels. Breakfast was delicious and very few people were there as I was very early in the dining area. There was one problem and that was the noise from the next room at the mid night, after complaining the front desk it stopped. Paid $ 75 for a night stay and it was worth.

To begin with the ladies at the front desk are rude, being approached with "what do you need?" Is not exactly polite. And the rooms, nasty, filthy, disgusting. Dont look like theyve been cleaned in a lonh time. Our room smelt nasty, like mildew, the bathtub was so old the paint was coming off, and it was stained up. Disgusting! Dirt everywhere. We went out to get something to eat and came back to find a man getting arrested for drugs right outside our door. Needless to say DO NOT stay here!

Me and my fiance paid 84 dollars a night + tax and the room was messy when we checked in the maid people told me and him to sit in the room next to us so they could clean it. After the cleaned it we went in and sat for a min. we left to visit somje family and then back to the hotel/motel. when we got i had to clean the bathtub which was worn down the paint was pilling off but anyway i had to clean it. the first night of sleep we barely sleep. firm bed very firm and really soft pillows dont mix. plus the airplanes every night but other then all that it was ok.

not very clean, lots of dirt in corners, I think they vacumn the center of the room, don't look under anything..!!! Our refrigerator which we were very grateful to have had a steady pinging noise... thought it would blow up but it did work and I think after awhile the noise lolled me to sleep. Breakfast was adequate ...... the best thing is the price and you get what you pay for.. it was quiet and we slept well.

Fairly priced. Breakfast is sufficient. Staff is nice and very accomodating. Older property but clean. Seen better, but seen MUCH worse! If yer' a "nit-picker" then stay at the HILTON.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have micro-fridges, but staff will give them to you as long as they are available.
