If you look up the word "disgusting" in the dictionary, you will see a picture of this motel. My 11 year old looked found this one online and wanted to stay there because it has a view of the star on Mill Mountain. He also learned that this motel had a major fire in 2011 while under going renovations. I figured if the motel was now open 3 years later, it must be fully renovated and recovered from the blaze. Boy, was I wrong!. I'm not sure where to begin... cracks in the concrete with weeds growing thru, smelly elevators, cigarette burns in the sheets, employees smoking just outside the lobby, cats living in a room on the third floor, extreme slope to the walkways on 2nd and 3rd floors, mildewed and torn carpet on the stairs. My kid jumped in the pool, and the surface bubbles were filled with sediment and would not pop, which told me that something wasn't right. He also asked about the fire, and the girl working the desk denied that it ever happened. I guess she assumed we were incapable of researching old news stories on the internet. Let me list the good things: You could see the star, and the wi-fi worked. I guess that's about it. The only thing that could help this motel is another fire and a wrecking ball.
