“Great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

Great hotel. Nice to have food available 24/7. Staff was very professional. Room had a living area and bedroom. Huge flat screen TV. Nice decor. Wet bar with frig. There was a nice sectional sofa and ottoman and a clean blanket/throw on it - all the comforts of home! If I could bring my dogs, I'd move in and forget the hassles of home ownership!

Room Tip: Skip the $$ restaurants and eat there. Excellent breakfast and salads and sandwiches for other meals...

Thanks for the high marks!

Traveling with a team you get to see alot of hotels during the season. Our rooms work great for teams & families with the sofa that pulls out to a queen size bed. That addition put an end to traveling with sleeping bags for sleeping on the floor.

Sports teams are a large contributor to helping make our business successful; we WANT the players & parents to have a great experience.

Thanks for the repeat business!

We just spent 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was always "Johnny On The Spot", the room was spacious and clean and we lacked nothing. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The internet access was quick. The AC was great because it has an auto on/off thermostat. The (king-size) bed was very comfortable. The TV is huge and made watching our Lodge-Net movie very pleasant. Having such a nice size fridge in the room was great for the food we brought as well as our restaurant leftovers. And I'd like to shake the hand of the person who thought of those storage cubbies! There never seems to be enough places to stow stuff out of the way while staying at hotels and it was nice to have a place to do just that. There were even two full length mirrors in the dressing area! Yes, we will certainly stay again!

I thought this hotel was great for the price. We got an internet rate of 85 dollars after taxes and all fees. The room was very spacious. Our room was well laid out with a very large flat screen TV on the wall which had HBO. Good shower water pressure as well. It had nice amenities inside it as well like a pool and a food for purchase lounge area. The breakfast was pretty good that was included and we would stay there again.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

I've stayed here three times now, and always have a pleasant experience. I travel the state and Hyatt accepts the "state rate". The staff has always been friendly and helpful, the rooms clean, beds comfortable, internet available in the rooms and the breakfast items fully stocked. As a frequent business traveler, I can't ask for more. The only things that prevented the 5th star, are that some updating of the property would be helpful, and more importantly, if I want to get coffee after breakfast hours, I have to make it in my room since there isn't any available unless I purchase the Starbucks at the bar.

What a great review of our hotel! I am glad we are delivering a good product on a regular basis; I will share this with our staff at our next meeting.

We have complimentary coffee during our breakfast hours & there is coffee in the guestrooms. We do offer Starbucks during the other times you might need a coffee fix; as you mentioned in your review we do charge for the Starbucks.

Keep checking back there may be some changes in the hotel in 2013!

We appreciate your repeat business & look forward to having you return!

We recently spent four nights at this property. The rooms were spacious and clean. I like the layout. However, the hotel itself is in need of some TLC. The elevators were noisy, slow , shaky, and dirty. All of the chairs in the lobby were stained. We would stay here again due to the great location, but hopefully some updating will happen soon.

Thanks for taking your time to share your experience while staying at our hotel.

I will be sharing your review with our management staff. The elevators are scheduled to be cleaned twice a day; the elevators are inspected & serviced by an outside source on a regular basis.

The chairs in the lobby looked great when they were new however the fabric was not designed for the day-to-day use in a busy hotel. This is something we are aware of & have looked into.

Hope you will stay with us the next time your travels bring you back to the Roanoke area!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

My large family and friends booked multiple rooms at this hotel for our nephew's college graduation. There was no-fee for vehicle parking (that's good), the hotel lobby was clean and accomodating (that's good too), and the front desk staff was friendly, patient, yet efficient with my confusing booking arrangements with my family --- more about the front staff later...

The room itself was clean enough, a little tired with the decor but nevertheless, quiet and comfortable in the room with a roomy king bed. King bed area was separated by a partition which had a large sofa in the other section. This sofa was big enough for another person to sleep nicely on. The main attraction in the room was the giant Plasma T.V. It was absolutely mesmerizing - we couldn't seem to turn it off though we were exhausted from commencement ceremonies. The room was kinda like a college kid's studio apartment, the center of it being a beautiful big-screen with lots of cable channels --- was that a 60"?
Anyway, the room was isolated from outside noise, a good night's sleep was had by all, and we checked out early taking advantage of the continental breakfast. Cold cereals, coffee, bagels, toast, fresh fruit, and while we were leaving, pancakes were being served up.

About the staff: Their job at this hotel ain't easy. I was looking over the clerk's shoulder at his check-in screen to clarify something. The poor guy had to stand up all the time, then quarter-squat, and then bend his neck forward to see the screen...far from a comfortable position. The other clerk complained a little too about the situation saying her neck gets really sore.

Tip to Hyatt corporate management (I know you'll be reading this): Carefully evaluate the ERGONOMICS for these front deskers before long-term injuries start showing up. They deserve better working conditions.

Trip Tip: Stay here for a clean, average hotel room. Regards to the clerks with the neck braces!

Graduation weekends are family events & our guestrooms provide the extra space needed when families travel. The sleeper sofas have been a great selling point for our leisure market.

I am glad your family enjoyed their stay with us & hope that you will return if & when your travels bring you back to the Roanoke area.

Your comments on the design of the front desk computers are noted. When Hyatt designed the front desk it was to remove any barrier between the guest & our staff.

All the best!
