“Baseball and softball fields reviewed only”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

We come here for softball games. They have bleachers and fenced in dug outs but without coverings. They have bathrooms & drink and snack machines. It's a large park with an outdoor pool and other sports fields over looking the beautiful Virginia countryside.

“Sledding at it's Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

If you are ever driving through Western Virginia and want to stop for some fun sledding, or if you live in the Washington, D.C. area and want to get out to sled without the cost of a chair lift - Franklin Park is your answer. Set within the hills of Western Loudoun, Franklin Park boasts hills of all levels perfect for a family outing of sledding. Along with sledding there are plenty of nature trails you can walk. If you have now shoes and want to play a round of Disc Golf - there is a great course which surrounds all the outdoor facilities.
We went sledding on Christmas night - under the moon light and it was so great. They kept the gates open just a bit longer for us - so we could take advantage of the perfect conditions. During the day time we hit the "big" hill and then walked a few of the trails. Such a fun place in the winter time and it's all FREE. A pet friendly park - bring you dog on leash and let them enjoy it as well.
At the hill top are facilities as well as a location to warm up if you need.

“Nice park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

I remember when the park was constructed. Scouts worked on several Eagle projects there. It is a clean, well maintained park, Nice place to have a picnic, play games and so on.

“Good Family Fun Day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

If you need somewhere to go with the whole family, this is it. Cool pool and othe park amenities...the dog will love it to! Lots of fields to run (ok, they are supposed to be on a leash) If you go during the week or non-summer time, it is usually pretty quiet. Wide open spaces

“Nice pool, tennis, frisbee golf, volley ball, riding/hiking trails”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

Great little park. If you don't line up in the summer BEFORE the pool opens, you will have to wait to get in. The riding trail, though short, is terrific. Perfect for a barefoot horse. Very nice riding arena. Needs a couple cross country jumps. When riding, beware of high school cross country track meets - check the LVHS site prior to trailering into the park.
