“Phenomenal Experience, like always.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

Visited Sunset Hills last year at about this same time. Their Sunset Red is one of the best table wines I have found. Decided to join the membership, and have never looked back. Did not choose the shipping option, as I enjoy the tasting every time that we pick up Nate's next selection. What might sound incredible, as the wine is one Virginia's finest, is that the experience at this winery is beyond compare. Nicest people, incredible food (ok, it is tapas, but you have to get a bottle of wine, get the smoked cheddar, hot bread and pepperoni and sit out on the deck. An incredible way to spend the day. We have had great service from SOOOOO many people there, and prefer it because of the focus on the environment (yes, all solar powered).
Note to those people that are looking at adding wineries to a list for tastings... Put this one at the end of your list, but not so far down that you do not reach it... If you put it to early, you will fall behind - as you will not want to leave. Worse, everything will suffer from comparison: the ambiance, the wine, the food, the view...

“Need for bug control and cheaper wine”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

Honestly, it's too commercial. Too many families, too many dogs, more of a picnic site than a winery. The bugs and gnats were horrific.

“Excellent Wine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

My wife and I attended a Premier Tasting and were greatly impressed with the wines and the commitment to quality at this vineyard. There honestly was not a single wine that we tasted that we would not have enjoyed taking home. Service by the staff was excellent and the owner's description of the wines was most enjoyable. We had been to several other wineries in the area and this one was by far our favorite. We will be back to further explore the grounds and to enjoy another tasting.

“Super Commercial”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

If you are looking for a down home atmosphere, pass on this winery. We experienced many awesome wineries in the area with great stories to share. However, Sunset Hills didn't feel the need to share their story because they were far too busy. Save your time and money and visit Doukenie, Loudoun Valley, North Gate, or Crushed Cellar. All well worth your time!
