“Not The Best. Dragged Here By Family Or Else I Wouldn't Go.”
I've ate here several times. I'm not impressed. First off, the restaurant is set in an old barn with weird paintings on the outside. An out of towner would likely drive right on by. When you get inside, there are dolls/dummies, random hanging pigs in the air, strange drawings on the walls. The menu is difficult to read. The first time I went, I could barely eat because of such décor. I've since gotten use to it so I'm over that part now. I now value it as "apart of the experience." I've heard from a couple of people that they make gentlemen remove their hats when entering. Very uncalled for. If I should be told this if I just so happened to be wearing a hat, I'd leave immediately and probably never return.
The food is overrated for the most part. The parking lot is full on the weekends and I will never understand why. There are only two things worth getting. The ribeye steak is HUGE and very good. I'll rate that 5 stars but it's $25 and only includes a small baked potato (no small salad included like most steak restaurant chains include at this price). The other thing worth getting is the rotisserie garlic chicken. It's 4 star worthy however I was informed today that they are no longer offering this until the fall because the rotisserie was making the kitchen too hot. The chicken was my wife's favorite dish. She was very disappointed to find this out so we probably won't be going here again until the fall. As an extra side item, their mac and cheese is very good, very unique, but it'll cost you $7 for a very small bowl of it. My wife loves the crab dip and chips. I don't much care for it. I'd give it 3 stars but she'd give it a 5. Not worth the price in my opinion but my wife loves it so we get it as an appetizer and I may take a bite or two of it. I've gotten a warm salad with grilled chicken and it wasn't the best. Again, maybe 2 or 3 star worthy and not worth the price for it. I've gotten a BBQ pork plate before and it was absolutely awful. 1 star. My wife didn't like it either.
I'll give high praise to the waitresses. They are usually so busy especially on weekends but I've never had to ask for a soda refill. They keep them coming. They offer beer and wine to drink as well. Nice dessert offerings but they sell out quickly and your wallet is usually drained just from the main meal and appetizer so I've never had any.
Overall, this place is hit or miss. If you want a steak, this is a good place to go. You'll pay $25 and only get a baked potato and no salad but it's a very good steak. Rotisserie chicken is good too but they are not offering it until the fall. Anything else, just not worth the money and nothing to make you want to come back and get the same thing again. Try to get use to the décor. Like the title of this review says, I'm dragged here by family or else I'd never go here on my own unless I had a huge craving for a steak. Overall, I debated on giving this place 2 or 3 stars. I'll give it the benefit and say 3 star worthy.
