“Wonderful Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2010

What a wonderful place to stay! We have been to many B&B's and this one is one of our favorites now. Gregg and Lori have created a wonderful spot for a great getaway - we went as a family and the location is perfect for lots of different activities - the water inlets are very neat for kayakers! Breakfasts were the best we have seen in B&B's and the rooms and suites were very well appointed and super clean and comfortable - they have thought of everything! We plan to go back again and again and see what our innkeepers will have done in the next year of operation! Congratulations to Gregg and Lori for creating a perfect B&B!

The innkeepers, Greg and Lori, have provided a great place on the Chesapeake Bay to escape and relax in fantastic accommodations. Their care for their guests, their environment and community are unparalleled. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and their company. We stayed in the East River Suite but got to see all the rooms in the house and they are all very nice. We look forward to returning soon. There is plenty to do, even in winter, by exploring the towns along the middle peninsula and northern neck. Can't wait to get back in warmer weather and get out on the Bay.

My wife and I found the Inn online and decided to make a last minute reservation on Valentines day weekend. I can not stress enough how much we both enjoyed our stay. It was our very first Bed and Breakfast experience and it was the perfect romantic getaway. We absolutely loved staying in the Chesapeake suite...including the large jacuzzi in the room! We also got to take a look at some of the other rooms and they were all beautifully decorated along with having individual bathrooms. On top of how great everything looked, the hospitality was awesome! Greg and Lori were such kind, down to earth people and I think that was really a big part to making it a great place to stay. They do everything in their power to make sure that you are comfortable and having a great stay at the inn. We really enjoyed the little wine and cheese get together on Saturday evening. Relaxing, trying different types of wine, and having a good conversation with other couples isn't something that we get to do very often having two little boys. Breakfast was also delicious in a cool dining room with a beautiful view of the creek. We definitely did not want the stay to end and we are already missing it! We'll be telling all of our friends and family about the Inn at Tabbs Creek and we are already looking forward to staying for a whole weekend this summer.

We met our daughter and son-in-law for a weekend at the Inn at Tabbs Creek. It was our first visit to Mathews County and both the Inn and the surrounding area was a wonderful surprise! Lori and Greg have created such a welcoming environment. Sitting in the library with a fire in the fireplace and a glass of wine was a perfect place to relax on a cold evening. The breakfasts Greg creates are delicious ~ not the sweet, gooey things we are often served at B&Bs. The setting of the Inn with water on three sides is spectacular and I can only imagine how wonderful it would be there in warmer weather. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the county and the little town of Mathews is a real treat ~ great shops and restaurants and such nice people.
We chose the East River Room and it was perfect. Loved the Asian decor and the huge hot tub was definitely enjoyed. And, it was nice to have a separate sitting area.
We already look forward to a return visit!

Perfect B&B for an anniversary or special occasion. The rooms are beautiful with great water views on all sides. The hosts, Greg & Lori go out of their way to provide the very best service- Even to having special flowers and wine for that special occasion. The breakfasts were delicious. Don't miss this gem.

After a 14-hour flight from Tokyo to DC and another couple of hours on the road, arriving at the Inn at Tabbs Creek felt like coming home - being warmly welcomed by the lovely innkeepers Lori & Greg, we felt like we were part of the family from the very first minute. The Inn is beautifully located on a lovely piece of land surrounded by water. We spent the whole day on the pier in the sun, fishing, catching crabs and collecting oysters, which we then prepared as a big feast to enjoy in the evening together with the other guests.

The surrounding areas in Mathews County are great for nature lovers and you can easily explore the area by bicycle or stroll along the lovely beaches of the Chesapeak Bay. Coming from the hectic life in Japan, staying at this luxury B&B in the heart of the nature was the best ever way to start off our vacation. Had we known this place before, we would have definitely booked at least another 2 nights in advance...

We can absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to escape for a while and should we ever be in the area again we will definitely be back!

Tucked away at the end of a tree-lined drive is a majestic, two-story, white frame house with a lawn stretching down to a peaceful cove at the back. It's like a return to a serene and tranquil time of years past with its rocking chairs, bicycles, and canoe, along with chances to fish from the pier, toss horseshoes, or just relax in the hammock. The inn's hosts, Greg and Lori, provide spacious, light-filled, airy guestrooms that are not only beautiful and tastefully decorated, but also comfortable. Updated, adjoining baths, assured us of privacy and we had a sound night's rest. Each morning, we awoke to the far-away sounds of birds as they flew over the peaceful waters of the cove, and next, we smelled delicious aromas coming from the kitchen where Greg had prepared a delectable and memorable breakfast. Lori helped him serve and no detail was left undone, even down to the warming of the plates. Greg and Lori are personable, engaging hosts who seem to be attuned to their guests' every wish or need, and we found them to be attentive and accommodating without being intrusive or interfering. To find a special get-away place for quiet moments, we loved the first-floor library, with its ornate fireplace and feel of serenity. We spent our last night down by the water, lying on the pier, looking up at the myriad of stars. A truly charming and delightful inn that is beautiful, peaceful, and a special retreat.
