There aren't enough words to say how fabulous our wedding was at the Inn at Riverbend. My husband and I are from the DC area, but now live in Chicago. Our goal was to find a small B&B to have our wedding at for a small, intimate, immediate family members only wedding at (we didn't want our family to have to travel too far). It was nerve racking for us because we'd be planning a "destination" wedding, and our schedules made it impossible to check out the location before hand. We had to hope for the best wherever we chose.
Thankfully, with some help from our family members, we were suggested the Inn at Riverbend and Linda (God bless her) made all of our worries melt away. She took care of everything--where people were staying, what they wanted for breakfast, arranged for a river tubing outing for the family and a cookout, booked my photographer, booked a violinist for the ceremony, and the list goes on and on and on.... And the best part was the whole time, she was like "No stress!" Boy was she right.
The night that we arrived, Linda helped us arrange a rehersal dinner in town at the Bank restaurant--crabcakes with a curry aioli or a tender pork tenderloid--yum! Everyone raved about the food. We then had a smores making competition by a bonfire at a cabin nearby the inn called New River's Edge. The cabin was wonderful and the owner is named Paul Moody. He was fabulous and can arrange any sort of river activity you would ever want.
The next day, our wedding day, Linda prepared a wonderful breakfast of waffles with fresh fruit, coffee, breads, and juices. We all got ready and went back to the cabin for some fun on the river. Everyone had a great time! Our wedding was at 5pm that evening, and as I mentioned before, Linda took care of everything and kept the show running smoothly. Our photographer took some fabulous photos (see attached) and just as the night before, the food was fantastic! My flowers came out just lovely from a local florist, I had a lady come and do my hair (she did a great job) and the violinist played all the songs that we had picked out ahead of time.
I could go on and on, but my point is that if you want to have a small wedding, don't want the stress, and want everyone to have a great time, you need to go here. If you're not getting married, but just want to get away from it all, you'd also love it here. We will definitely be back. Thank you Linda!!!
