There aren't enough words to say how fabulous our wedding was at the Inn at Riverbend. My husband and I are from the DC area, but now live in Chicago. Our goal was to find a small B&B to have our wedding at for a small, intimate, immediate family members only wedding at (we didn't want our family to have to travel too far). It was nerve racking for us because we'd be planning a "destination" wedding, and our schedules made it impossible to check out the location before hand. We had to hope for the best wherever we chose.
Thankfully, with some help from our family members, we were suggested the Inn at Riverbend and Linda (God bless her) made all of our worries melt away. She took care of everything--where people were staying, what they wanted for breakfast, arranged for a river tubing outing for the family and a cookout, booked my photographer, booked a violinist for the ceremony, and the list goes on and on and on.... And the best part was the whole time, she was like "No stress!" Boy was she right.
The night that we arrived, Linda helped us arrange a rehersal dinner in town at the Bank restaurant--crabcakes with a curry aioli or a tender pork tenderloid--yum! Everyone raved about the food. We then had a smores making competition by a bonfire at a cabin nearby the inn called New River's Edge. The cabin was wonderful and the owner is named Paul Moody. He was fabulous and can arrange any sort of river activity you would ever want.
The next day, our wedding day, Linda prepared a wonderful breakfast of waffles with fresh fruit, coffee, breads, and juices. We all got ready and went back to the cabin for some fun on the river. Everyone had a great time! Our wedding was at 5pm that evening, and as I mentioned before, Linda took care of everything and kept the show running smoothly. Our photographer took some fabulous photos (see attached) and just as the night before, the food was fantastic! My flowers came out just lovely from a local florist, I had a lady come and do my hair (she did a great job) and the violinist played all the songs that we had picked out ahead of time.
I could go on and on, but my point is that if you want to have a small wedding, don't want the stress, and want everyone to have a great time, you need to go here. If you're not getting married, but just want to get away from it all, you'd also love it here. We will definitely be back. Thank you Linda!!!

Our most recent visit to the Inn was our 4th and each time we seem to enjoy even more than the last - starting with "wow!" at the turn for the road to the driveway. We just can't say enough good things about Lynn & Linda and the staff - every detail is well thought out in advance. One of our prime criteria is cleanliness and Riverbend has been consistently spotless every visit. Yummy cookies, wonderful breakfasts, dreamy beds and many little "extras" make this Inn the total classy package. Add the friendliness of the entire staff (including the resident pooches) and you just can't beat it anywhere for any price.

My wife & I stayed at this bed & breakfast for a relaxing getaway...and we were not disappointed. The Food was not only excellent but presented professionally as well. On our first night, we chose to eat supper at the B&B. Eric (the assistant innkeeper) was the chef and he prepared a fantastic meal consisting of Salmon fillets, sauteed vegetables and the most delicious dessert that we have had in a long time. If you have the opportunity to eat at the Inn, do so because the food ranks up there with the finest area restaurants.

The breakfasts were equally good and were so filling that we required only a small snack for lunch. The Innkeepers recommended several places for us to visit and even helped with maps & itineraries. Linda & Lynn (and their entire staff) are the most hospitable of any B&B we have visited.

Riverbend's accommodations are named after the Innkeeper's grandchildren and we were fortunate to stay in the McKenzie room. There were windows on two sides, offering a panoramic view of the New River. Even the bathroom had windows so we could enjoy the view as we showered. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of trains running along the river's banks.

We recommend the Inn at Riverbend highly and will definitely return.

We recently stayed at The Inn at Riverbend for 2 nights and this was at least our 5th visit. In our 14 years of marriage, we’ve stayed at over one hundred Bed and Breakfasts or Inns and the Inn At Riverbend is, by far, our favorite. Since we like to see new places and have new experiences, we don’t revisit places we stay. So the fact that we continue to re-visit The Inn At Riverbend is the highest compliment we can give!

The Inn is magnificent, the hosts are gracious, the décor looks like it should be on a magazine cover, the food is fabulous, and the view spectacular. We think so much of The Inn at Riverbend experience that we rented the entire Inn for our parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. We couldn’t have had the celebration at a better place.

We're already looking at our calendar to see when we can return!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Riverbend for one night during Valentine's week. We have stayed in B&Bs all over the world, and this place takes the cake for high standards, wonderful food, and fabulous hospitality!! I can not say enough good things about this Inn! Upon check-in, Eric introduced us to the owners who were very cordial and polite (I have no idea what one reviewer was talking about when she said the owners were "scary"??). Eric showed us around the Inn and we were greeted with goodies upon arrival.

We stayed in the McKenzie room which has beautiful views of the river and the meadow. The entire Inn was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable with beautiful crisp linens. It was by far the best night's rest ever in a bed other than my own. We heard no noise from other guests, nor did we experience any noise from the kitchen/dining area. Eric made us a huge breakfast in the morning which is served in the dining area overlooking the spectacular views. When we checked out, we were both relaxed, full, and very happy with our stay. You could not ask for a more delightful accommodation and the hosts were incredibly friendly and made our stay perfect with all those added touches (toiletries in the bathrooms were superb!).

There is a train that comes by from time to time (that's down the mountain from the Inn), but it's fairly far away and didn't bother us in the least - in fact, the faraway rumble from time to time added to the charm and romance of the inn. It did not wake us up, nor did it seem bothersome at all.

Overall, our experience at the Inn at Riverbend was one of the best we've ever had staying at a B&B. By the way, if you want an incredible dinner, go to The Bank in downtown Pearisburg (5 minutes away). You will NOT be disappointed in the wonderful cuisine!
