This place is stunning around Halloween, when the foliage is gorgeous and there is already some snow on the ground. The unpaved road up to the hostel made me nervous, in my little, 14 year old Infiniti, but I made it (most of the wheels in this part of the world are 4 wheel drive).
Neville is a wonderful hostess! She really shows you the hospitality of the south, and she kindly took us down to the local Methodist Church on Sunday, and everyone there was totally welcoming as well. It really made my experience, as did hiking along the snow-covered AT for a short stretch.
Michael is getting better, folks. He is honestly trying hard, and is quite personable in his own way. When I backed my car over the edge of their pond, he graciously pulled me out without pulling off the front of the car. What could have been a disaster was averted due to his skills!
