“A replica of a Maori village.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

We visited this Maori village, which is opposite the Mission house and were amazed at how Maories lived in the 1800's. Well worth a visit.

“Go after hours”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

First time back in about 10 years and it hasn't changed much. Not really worth $10pp to look around considering it takes about 15 minutes to cover fully. My advise is to go in after hours and put in $5.

“For donation entry - quite good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

This attraction is quite simple and actually very well maintained given they run on donations and even offer after hours access.

The gardens are nice and well kept and the maori displays very good and informative.

Good quick insight into traditional maori life.

“Fascinating insight into the Maori culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Had no idea this was here. We noticed it whilst visiting the Mission site opposite and called in. The site recreates typical Maori buildings and features in an informative way. Well worth a visit.

“A bit run down”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

Such a great little tourist spot but it has been let go a bit. We got there after the info shop had closed but you can enter anyway and wander about which is good. The signs etc could do with replacing but the whare etc areI thought 'authentic'?!
