“Wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2012

I recently had my wedding reception at the Pear Tree. It was the most fantastic day organised by Monika and Neil at one of the most amazing setings in the far north!

We had approx 100 guests who all commented that it was the best wedding food they had ever had!

We had our ceremony on the lawn, followed by our reception inside. This venue has the whole package! We invited 20 of our closest friends to a beautiful degustation dinner in the blacksmith's shed the night after our wedding, which was a massive hit! Chef Neil out-did himself and we were so happy that we chose this venue to celebrate our special occasion!

Next time we are in Kerikeri we will have dinner at The Pear Tree on several occasions if not all!

“Good but dissapointed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

We booked for 2, ordered bread and dip as an entree bread was nice and warm.
My partner ordered the seared venison with seasonal vegetables, he said the venison was very good. The veges were frozen.....very disappointed for a restaurant like that... I ordered the lamb rack with 2 sides and a sauce included. Chooses the kumara mash and the salads. I ordered medium rare for the lamb it was medium with no taste....both sides were good. The only thing we couldnt believe is that they did no had ground pepper!!!!! What kind of restaurant doesnt have ground pepper??!!!
For dessert i had the pear and rhubarb crumble, very nice and fresh.
In overal i was myself very disapointed with my main and no pepper! we spent about $160 with a bottled of wine.
