“Good coffee and cakes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Coffee and cakes were really good.
Was a little disappointed with the other foods although they were not bad.
Atmosphere was very nice.

“Overhyped”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

Went to the fig due to the amount of vegan food available and have to say myself and my 2 girlfriends were all disappointed.

The service was appalling, they sold out of sever, items but only told us after we ordered, they brought the wrong drink, forgot my girlfriends salad and put extra on the bill!

I had the stuffed mushrooms which were a bizarre concept as the stuffing was mashed avocado, corn and chilli which was then baked. Cooked avocado? Still on the fence.....

The broccolini was amazing as was the Pinot grigio but I wouldn't venture here again....

“Good for any occasion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

I am a regular at the fig and I love it! I have rarely been let down by this place, food is always good (meals are always slightly different to most places.) the decor is interesting and always a good discussion point, and the staff are fantastic! Good place for a catch up with friends, meal with a loved one or a quick bit of coffee and cake.

“No greeting, smelt of dirty soiled clothes, ordinary food at best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

We werent greeted very quickly, then when we were, waitress was sloppily dressed with body piercings and tattoos, couldnt understand her. We were seated and table was too far away for comfy sitting and table wobbly. Had better food elsewhere. Bread was so tough couldnt cut it with knife and on the benedict , hardly any hollandaise sauce. I wouldnt go back as we have had much nicer elsewhere with better service.

“Inventive roobios latte”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

A funky little place overlooking the beach with personality to the max, this was the perfect place for a wind-down Wednesday breakfast.

The eggs Benedict (although a jarred tasting sauce) were tasty, but it was the roobios tea latte that really shone.

If u are caffeine intolerant, roobios tea is a wonderful alternative and this is one of the only times I have seen it on a menu. Although upon initial probing of the waiter (who actually recommended against it) I ordered the menu oddity and it was lovely. Somewhere in the field of a chai, it was warming (for the unseasonably cold day) and very tasty.

I would recommend this cafe for sure, excluding the slightly inflated prices and lack of confidence in their more unique menu options.
