Location: If you need ultra quick access to the airport this is as good as it gets. Its right there.

Room - i took a jacuzzi suite, it was on special, and i got a massive room with huge windows overlooking the airport. Fantastic. I stayed with my wife and two toddlers and it made the stay a breeze.

Food - um not great at all, and expensive. $70 for three plates of ordinary food. not really that good.

Pool/Spa - it was not a massive pool but for us it was perfect. Kids had somewhere to play in the evening and we could sit back and read a book for an hour.

Hotel is within easy walking distance (150 metres) to International & Domestic terminals under covered walkways. Room comfortable, parking in adjacent short-term undercover car park at $12AUD/night as guests of hotel otherwise car park very expensive. Staff friendly and eating facilities available in hotel or at the airport. Breakfast a bit expensive. Carpets in hallway have gaps at joins and need repair to reduce trip hazard risk. Good size TV screen, very slow channel changing and no TV guide in our room.

We stayed there one night before our very early morning flight back home. The location of this hotel is excellent: In the same building as the rental car return stations and a 2 min walk to the terminals. We kept our car until the last minute and had dinner in downtown Melbourne (25 min away if traffic is smooth). We also cannot say anything about the breakfast as we rather wanted to sleep 30 min longer. The reception is very friendly and efficient (check-in and check-out were very fast). The furniture in the room is modern and pleasant to look at, the bath room is very good. Definitely much better than many airport hotels of this world where they offer you old rooms, high prices and a lousy service. We would go there again.

Within the airport complex and a short covered bridge walk to the airport terminals.
Clean, quiet room. resonable service.
The only downside is the entry. The entry door is on the ground floor, with the check in on level 4---no concierge on the ground floor to assist on unloading luggage.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night only. It is within the short term carpark, bit hard to find if you are driving there. The girls on the front desk are very helpful, friendly. They gave us a late checkout which is better than sitting in the airport waiting for flights. The rooms are a good size, bed very comfortable. Bathroom is a good size.

We arrived from Doha near midnight and found the hotel very convenient and the room very comfortable. The downfall was when we went for breakfast, service terrible, food no better and expensive. We were placed at a table that looked as though a primates tea party had taken place. The tea we requested did not arrive, some of the cooked food was burnt and when we requested fried eggs they came with black bits as though they had been cooked on a dirty surface. In summary, use the rooms but avoid the restaurant.

We arranged to stay the night at the Parkroyal Melbourne Airport on our way to Bali and Thailand. We had stayed at the hotel when it was the Hilton Melbourne Airport twice in January this year and had a wonderful time - a great experience and our needs were accommodated for (late night arrivals in Melbourne, early morning departure, etc).

We arrived in Melbourne at 7.30 a.m and even though check-in isn't until 2 p.m, they allowed us to check-in when we arrived which was very much appreciated. We were hoping that they'd just mind our bags until 2 p.m but to be able to check-in so early was beyond our expectations and we can't praise the hotel enough for this. Our room was comfortable and spacious, but hasn't changed since it was the Hilton. We still appreciate the blinds in the room enabling it to be dark enough to sleep regardless of the time of day.

However, when we had stayed at the hotel when it was the Hilton, we arrived late from an overseas trip and ordered dinner at around 1 a.m. from the room service menu. As we were told that the hotel has 24-hour room service, and as it is targeted at traveller's and business traveller's, we expected that we would be able to do the same. However we were shocked to see that the only food we were able to order after 11 p.m. was junk food like popcorn, donuts, biscuits, macaroni or a chicken sandwich with potato chips. My partner whom I was travelling with cannot eat food with gluten in it, and the menu had some foods marked as gluten-free which was great. Yet, there was nothing available after 11 p.m. that was gluten-free. So I understand that the hotel recognizes the importance of offering gluten-free foods, but only at certain times. We were told initially that there was nothing we could have, then we were told that the chef only works on certain nights so they couldn't make anything for us tonight. Next we were asked what we would like to have made up for us and when we requested certain basic foods (e.g. chips) we were told that was not possible. I asked what WOULD be possible, and she stated only what was on the menu, in otherwords nothing gluten-free (when asked what was gluten-free, we were told that we could have the biscuits and cheese - i then proceeded to correct her that biscuits aren't actually gluten-free and she responded "oh, yes, you're right"). So not only did the hotel not actually offer any proper food, there was nothing gluten-free and we were just confused more and more by being offered to request certain foods over and over before being told (as we had initially been told), there was nothing other than the set menu for that period.

The menu (over-all) is less extensive and more expensive than the Hilton, and breakfast is quite expensive although we did enjoy our breakfast which was included - it was a nice atmosphere with a nice selection.

We were flying with an unfamiliar airline to us at a flight at 10.55 a.m, and we weren't completely sure how long before departure their check-in opened and could not find it easily over the internet. We rang the hotel information desk to ask and told them our flight details and which airline we were flying with, and were told to check out of the hotel at 10 a.m. and walk across to the airport then to check-in. Luckily we didn't think this sounded right, and went across much earlier. In actuality, we had to be at the gate by 9.55 a.m., and so if we followed the advice we were given we would have missed our flight. We figured that either the staff (working at an airport hotel) would have some knowledge of these details, or that they would have some way of finding out, and at LEAST that they would not give advice when they didn't actually know! This could have had quite disastrous consequences had we blindly followed what they had told us.

To be honest we feel that the hotel has gone downhill since it was run by the Hilton. It is still in a convenient location, and the rooms are nice, quiet and spacious. However if we had read a review stating things that we experienced, we would have preferred a cheaper hotel elsewhere. We choose to stay at this hotel when going overseas not only for the convenient location, but because we thought that it was targeted at traveler's and meeting traveler's needs. Not only did this hotel not meet the needs of traveler's, but they weren't helpful to us and did not resolve our problems. The staff were lovely but all in all we just don't feel that it is suited for traveler's in the same way that it used to be, which is a vital aspect of an airport hotel.

Thankyou for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us which we appreciate and I sincerely apologise for the inconveniences you were caused during your stay with the room service menu and timing of your departure. I can advise we have now employed a new Chef and Food & Beverage manager who is in the process of updating all the menus including the room service one to be more suitable to our guests needs.
I was pleased to see we were able to accommodate you with an early checkin on this occasion. I can also advise we have recently changed over all the beds in the hotel, which are manufactured in Australia specifically for the Parkroyal and in February we will be recarpeting all guestroom corridors and our meetings & events area.
We appreciate the areas for improvement you have informed us on and we are working with the team to do such in these areas. We do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the near future.
