“Darn close to heaven on earth.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2010

This B&B was unique - warm & inviting, unique in it's blended style of antique and contemporary. I'll remember it best for it's sumptuous bedding and a dream of a bathroom, all in a beautiful, spacious setting & with food that I'm still salivating at the memory of. And if all that weren't enough, the owners were so enjoyable that they proved to be the icing on the cake.

We bought a gift certificate to the Inn at Westwood Farm at a silent auction event in Lexington, KY. We used it for our stay over Valentine's weekend. Jay and Elizabeth were warm, welcoming hosts and very accommodating for our every want and need. They gave great suggestions about sites to see and maps to find our way around the area. The property is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. Our Westwood Eggs Benedict for breakfast was divine. We will definitely book a stay there again when we are in the area.

The owners of the Inn at Westwood Farm took the finest of their own world travel experiences and created an exquisite B&B in historic central Virginia, perfect for sightseeing, winery tours or just relaxing in style. Their sunny & welcoming yellow farmhouse was completely restored & is tastefully furnished. Stylish & comfortable, from luxe Yves Delorme bedding, to Molton Brown toiletries to arrangements of local, seasonal flowers...even rare pink pussywillows blooming through winter snow....no aesthetic detail is overlooked. Local Virginia wine & artisinal cheese are on the sideboard to enjoy in the late afternoon. And breakfasts during our visit included homemade scones (fig/fennel or ginger), granola parfaits, eggs from their farm, locally raised pancetta....culinary perfection for foodies!
Elizabeth & Jay are gracious & helpful hosts. We loved our weekend at the Inn at Westwood Farm & look forward to returning soon!

This is an inn housed in a renovated 1910 farmhouse where clearly every detail has been carefully considered: the colors, the furnishings and lighting, the feel of the French towels and bed linens, the landscaping and plantings, the menu of fresh local food offerings . . . I could go on and on. The innkeepers have exquisite taste. And on top of that, Elizabeth and Jay are warm and friendly people who were ready to answer all our questions and coordinate our weekend details. We will definitely be returning, and soon!

This was our first stay in the Orange, Va area and it won't be our last. Montpelier is magnificent and the tours fabulous. The Inn at Westwood Farm was sumptuous in a low-key way. It was small and personal. Our hosts, Elizabeth & Jay, were extremely pleasant, knowledgable, and accommodating without being intrusive. They have done everything to make their guests feel welcome and pampered. The public spaces are pleasant and the bedrooms a good size. Relaxing and conversing on the back deck, overlooking the pastoral fields was wonderful. Our bedroom, with bath, was very inviting. The sleigh bed had a very comfortable mattress with beautiful linens and lots of down pillows. There was a large whirlpool tub, hand-milled soap and the most wonderfully thick white towels and robes with matching slippers. Westwood Inn-raised chickens produced fresh eggs served for breakfast....tasty.

Whether touring, relaxing or just watching a beautiful sunset on the back deck, it's great! We look forward to many returns to this tranquil inn. Our next visit will include the nearby local wineries and perhaps Charlottesville.

I've lost count of all the wonderful Bed and Breakfasts my wife and I have stayed at all over the country, but nothing compares to our experience at the lovely and pastoral Inn at Westwood Farm. In fact, the word "Inn" does not adqueatuely describe the experience you will have staying there. "Home" more clearly reflects the warmth and attention to detail that Elizabeth and Jay (our gracious hosts) have created at their wonderful and authentic Westwood Farm.
Our room perfectly reflected the era of this Central Virignia masterpeice, with an outstanding bathroom and the most comfortable bed we have slept on in years! And the views from our windows reminded us of Old Virginia with rolling pastures and a sunrise you only see on postcards.
Every part of this home is worth exploring with something special to appreciate and linger over in every room. Eliizabeth and Jay's eye for authenticity blended with some modern touches made the home a special place, indeed.
Jay's detailed stories of the history of Westwood Farm helped us understand how special this "farm house" really is. Go, stay, and enjoy this very special home.
Our highest recommendation!
