“Day out ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

This is a nice place but I did not really enjoy there, I have to many different animal parks and i was a little disappointed. It is ok for a short day out with friends and families.

“a nice introduction to Australian animals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

This a place to touch and get a photo with a Koala (no extra after entrance ticket) and to feed kangaroos. They also have wombats and a tasmanian devil. As an overseas tourist it was nice to see the Australian animals. We took about 1h30 to see it all.

“A bird aviary? Not quite right.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

I have been to many zoos/ animal parks in Australia. This one was different. It seemed to be clearly targeted towards overseas tourists, specifically Asian tourists.
At first I didn't notice this although their were a couple of large tour groups. Once getting to the shop and seeing a large shop filled with fake "Australia" souvenirs it became clear.
Positives were you could get photo with Koala for free. Other places I have been charge a minimum $20 for this.
Wallabies were ok also as you could feed and pat.
Birds were nice but many squashed in to small cages.
Didn't see many other animals at all.
Shows were on early and late so for me that turned up at 11.30 there was no way I could stay there until 3.30 to see the next session of shows.
I could of stayed if the zoo was good, but unfortunately the place was boring with nothing to do. A lap of the place took under an hour and then we were ready to leave.
Would not return.

“Always wanted to go, but have never had the chance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

As this park has been advertised for years, had always wanted to take the kids but never had the chance. Glad the kids got to go and experience all of the Australian Wildlife. As we are Aussies living abroad, the kids got to pat a lot of our native animals (most of us would take for granted), so it was worth going.

It was not as grand as I had thought it would be, but it was a lovely day out.

“A Zoo...But not a Zoo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

If you have had enough of traditional Zoos, and want to see local Australian animals, then Featherdale Wildlife Park is the place to go. Hey, you can see Lions and Tigers at your Zoo back home!

Featherdale only has Australian animals and you can really get up close and personal, feeding the Kangaroos by hand and touching the Koalas. Kids love it. We always take overseas visitors here. They have all the usual snacks, souveniers etc too.

P.S. I live in Syney and have been to Featherdale many times.
