“Great Family Beach Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

My husband and I and our 2 children ages 10 and 12 just stayed here at Villa Flamenco Beach at the beginning of August 2013. We had a great time, the 1 BR villa with kitchen was perfect for our family. Our hosts Juan and Violetta could not have been nicer and the location is unbelievable!!! The photos online do not do this place justice. The sand is like sugar, the beach is deep and wide and safe, this is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in the Carribbean. If you are planning a trip to Culebra and location is very important to you, then this is the place to stay. It is not fancy but the rooms are clean and air-conditioned with plenty of space and very comfortable. When we come to Culebra again, this is the place we will stay!

This is the kind of place you want to stay when you want to enjoy the beauty of the 2nd most beautiful beach in the world by Discover Channel. Villa Flamenco is right on the beach. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. We stayed at Villa #1, and it was spacious. It has one bedroom, and it faces the beach. The Kitchen is fully equipped. When we arrived Juan and Violeta greeted us and showed us around the premises, as we arrived earlier than check in, Violeta showed us where to safely leave our belongings, so that we could enjoy the beach while our rooms were ready. The maid beautifully made the beds and made lovely towel arrangements. And this mind sound unimportant, but the fact that they leave you with a full bottle of dish soap and an brand new (still unopened) sponge, that was nice. They also have a gas grill and a charcoal grill that guests can use at their convenience. They have boogie boards and other water toys. Juan and Violeta will help you with any arrangements you need to make, from calling a taxi for you or to set up a snorkeling trip to Culebrita, which is a must do. This is not a luxury hotel with a Piano bar or live music, this is nice clean guest house ran by 2 wonderful hosts where you can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean, and of course enjoy the most beautiful beach in the world! Oh, and did I mentioned that you can snorkeling is 50 feet away from your room and that at night you will see the most fascinating sky?

If you want peace and quite in a clean safe beach with breath taking view, then this is the right place. We stayed there for two wonderful days, falling asleep to the crashing sound of the waves right from the room, lulling around in the hammocks or taking a dip in our very own beach. Señora Violeta and Señor Juan were two of the most wonderful people, warm, caring and tending to any needs we had. After a bumpy ferry ride, my daughter became so sick, Mrs. Violeta came to pick us up herself at the ferry dock. After a restful night of sleep, Mr. Juan called for our snorkeling adventure. It was the best (Jonathan turned me, a non swimmer into an avid snorkler in 15 min.) They literally felt like the long lost family, making delicious coffee, to letting us dry out our clothes in their dryer and giving my hubby a dramamine before takeoff. We will surely return! Hasta pronto Sr. and Sra. Violeta..!

My wife and I called at the last minute while in San Juan. They dont normally rent for one night but Juan, the manager, made an exception. You litterly only have to walk 50 ft and you are on one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. As other have said, the apartments are not fancy but are very clean and quiet. Juan and his wife were unbelievably hospitable (you dont see much of that these days). They went out of their way on everything. We rentend a Jeep and it was worth it as you can drive back and forth between the restaurants and the villas (its too far to walk). The island seemed very safe. Highly recommend anyone to stay here. We will definitely be back and probably bring the kids as well.

Good price, so worth it to be right on the beach. Clean, friendly management (Juan and Violeta). Great ventilation and natural light in rooms because of all the windows. Functional kitchen and outdoor grill. The best place to stay in Culebra. :)

We stayed in one of the apartments. They were very clean and it was very quiet. We felt very comfortable. In the apartment was everything we needed. A lot of pans and even salt and paper so we could cook our own food. We had three awesome days over there. The owners are very very friendly and helped us with every question. They were great. The beach is right in front of the apartment and the beach is awesome!!
You can use the beachbeds for free. At the apartment u can also use the grill for free so u can have a nice BBQ evening.
If I will go back to culebra one day I will stay at this great apartment again!

Very few options to be on the beach in Culebras, not to mention the Most beautiful beach, Flamenco. Max and Esmereldas place is at the opposite end from the public beach, so you feel like you are in a private paradise. We had the least desirable room, back corner. So no outdoor space (vs patio, or the most desired balcony rooms). noise from parking lot(the best spot for cell reception), and the rowdier flamenco beach villas next door, was fortunately diminished by the sounds of the surf. Everyone we met had been there several times before, so had booked early for front rooms. Our room was very basic, but 10 steps to the beach! All we needed, coffee maker fridge, and Blender(: Hosts were lovely. Generously picked us up on arrival and stopped for groceries en route.
