“Casita Linda Met our Spectations!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2005

We stayed in Casita Linda for 3 night and 4 days and had a very pleasant stay. The upper floor unit has a beautifull view of the canal and the nearby restaurants.

The unit is well equipped with complete kitchen, 2 air-conditioned bedrooms (one of them barely cooling so please ask if it has been replaced before making your reservation) a nice bathroom and a covered deck terrace where you can enjoy chatting with your friends while you enjoy your favorite drink.

The unit is well decorated with some litographs made by Puerto Rican artists. A well stocked bookcase is available for the guest's enjoyment.

If you need groceries, you have a well equipped mini market next door, but be sure to check the working hours as the opening and closing times are diferent to what you are used to. If you opt to dine out, there are some restaurants nearby such as Mamacitas (Mexican) and the Dinghy Dock (excellent seafood, barbecue ad other grilled specialties). Their bar is the perfect setting to have a drink at night.

I definitely will stay again at Casita Linda for their good location and nearby ammenities.

Enjoy your visit to Culebra!!!!

I definitely recommend this place to stay due to

If you go to Culebra anytime in the year 2004 - please note their streets are all torn up right now because they are installing new city sewer, so if you stay anywhere you may or maynot have running water at your hotel.WE arrived on a hot afternoon, all sticky, sweaty, we had made a reservation at the Casita Linda which is within walking distance to all the restuarants and the main dock. When we arrived at 2 pm, the room had not been ready, they said they forgot about us coming, even though they had already take a $100 deposit from us. They clean the room by 4 pm so we sat around waiting. When we got in the room, all hot and sweaty, there was absolutely NO RUNNING water to take a shower, wash our face or anything. We did not have water for 24 hours and the owner did not offer us a discount off of our $99 room rate per day. He was actually annoyed when I called him twice to complain about the water system. He is like, get used to it, its a beautiful beachs here, you should not let that bother you. Well if you are paying LA prices for a small guest house you should expect running water! We had tons of misquitoes bites and bug bites in the room because its right on the canal and not well insulated. It was overpriced and the shower was like a electrocution waiting to happen, they had electrical cords hanging down into the shower so everytime you got in the shower - there was a potential risk for electric shock. The room was also located on and near a noisy bridge so it was super loud and we did not get any sleep after 5 am because of all the dump trucks rolling into town and the local roosters. The walls were thin cement and the room was overprices, no water, and the manager is off site and only reachable by phone so that was no good.
