“Over priced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

We recently stayed at Sugar hill Inn in Norris Point. The room was very spacious and clean however the walls were very bare with no pictures to soften the room or enhance it. The bed was comfortable and clean also but for what you get from the overall location is is hugely over priced and a small B&B would have been a much better selection given the currcumstances.
If it was the only accomodation left for your trip that would be a different story but I feel there are other more cost effective locations in the general area.

Fodor's description of this inn made it sound more luxurious than it really is. It is modern and clean but is more like a motel than an inn. We stayed in the cabin and enjoyed the privacy. It had everything we needed, even a jacuzzi in the tub and a deck with chairs, and was quite comfortable. The breakfast was good, nothing special. Best was the dinner. The food and the service were excellent. We actually ate there twice because the we enjoyed our dinner so much. Good location for seeing Gros Morne.

We stayed in this inn originally because they accepted dogs in a couple of units. We were not disappointed and quite pleased with our rooms, in fact we stayed twice on our trip to Newfoundland - at the beginning and on the way back to the ferry at Port Aux Basques for a total of 4 nights in all. The facility is lovely, sparkling clean, and very modern. Quiet, restful, and delicious food. Very convenient to Gros Morne which is a gem to explore.

The Inn provides all the amenities you would want - well appointed spacious rooms that have a fridge and Keurig coffee/tea. Rooms are spacious and very clean. We had a private entrance and deck that was wonderful to access after a long day of hiking . Dinner in the dining room is a must - cuisine that is exquisite. Staff were so knowledgeable of the area and attractions and very professional.

this is a very clean and comfortable inn.
the food is very good.
the view, however, is not as advertised. the rooms do not overlook the water; in fact the inn is some distance from the shoreline (a long walk).
We had a room with access to a very nice front deck for sitting out.
All in all, worth a stay.

In total agreement with the former reviews, this hotel offers large bright rooms, friendly service, internet, laundry, a (luke warm) hot tub, and excellent food (both breakfast and dinner --don't miss it! ). On the downside, the location, although convenient, is lacking in aesthetics. If you stay here you will just have to get out to appreciate the beauty of the sorroundings --which may not be a bad thing!

Rooms are huge and clean, but the bed wasn't too comfortable and sofa and sofa was smelly. Continential breakfast was average, but dinner was spectacular. Close to Rocky Harbour restaurants and hiking trails. Staff was friendly and helpful, but two billing mix ups (billed wrong amount for deposit and dinner was billed to the room instead of a credit card as requested) plus weird off season fees that were never mentioned until we checked out was more hassle than I needed on a vacation.
