“Great dining in Newfoundland”

Tasty seafood, great location and very friendly service, I would come back. It helps that it is near Gros Morne National Park, all that hiking makes one hungry.

“great view, service and food”

delightful find at the end for the road. Well worth the drive!

Tried the fish chowder, full of local catch, topped it off with a warmed slice of partridege pie and ice cream.

“beautiful town, lovely restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

To cap off my visit to Trout River, I had a chowder, a home baked roll, and a Black Horse lager at the Seaside Restaurant. Thank-you for being there so I could sit contently looking out the window, while eating a lovely mea,l and soaking in the view.

“THE seafood restaurant in Trout River”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Prize winning and worth the trip, the Seaside is a perfect part of a day in and around the Tablelands of Gros Morne National Park. More than an hour's drive from Rocky Harbour, the small seaside town has a beach, a boardwalk, a museum, an interpretation center, an historic home, a working wharf, and this restaurant. All the seafood is good. We've had cod, caplin, halibut, haddock, scallops, crab and more over the years. We've eaten before and after hikes and boat trips. And it has always been good. Restaurants are basic but pleasant, and coffee is OK. Eat upstairs if you can, and enjoy the harbour view (sun comes in your eyes in late afternoon and early evening).

“Great lunch stop!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

Had lunch here with seafood chowder. Quality of food and service exceeded expectations even after seeing their consistent listing in Where to Eat in Canada.
