“Great lunch stop!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

Had lunch here with seafood chowder. Quality of food and service exceeded expectations even after seeing their consistent listing in Where to Eat in Canada.

“A Real Treat for Food & Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

The Seaside is a "must do" when in the Gros Morne area.

The food and service continues to be wonderful. We had the Mussels, Caesar Salad and Pan Seared Scallops. It was all excellent, as was the service by Lorraine and Josh. The food was fresh and hot and ready very quickly, despite the upstairs dining area being full.

If you can, try and sit near a window, and you will find the views and the environment very calming and an aid to enjoyment of your meal.

“A treasure off the beaten path”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

We received a tip from a local to check out Trout River as a true fishing town. We visited with locals and enjoyed walking along the sandy beach before having supper at the Seaside Restaurant. It is a beautiful little gem. We experienced great service and wonderful food. The clam chowder was the best we have ever tasted. We had a variety of meals, all which we enjoyed. Our server was very helpful while we chose our meals.

“Okay, not great.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

This restaurant was highly recommended, and we did enjoy the people and the location right on the bay. Service was friendly but not fast, which wasn't really a problem for us that evening. Food was okay, not unusual, not outstanding. But we don't go to Newfoundland for the food, really. We would go back if in the area, but with realistic expectations.

“Good seafood in a beautiful location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

Well located restaurant with picture windows on the waterfront! Our waitress (too young to serve alcohol) was friendly and efficient. The scallops were excellent. We enjoyed our lunch very much.
