“Our 30 year honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

We had no place booked in Rocky Harbor, but came across these cabins in July 2012. We were told that the only cabin left was the honeymoon cabin. We just celebrated our 30th anniversary the week before, so figured, "why not?" We loved sitting outside by the harbor and watching the sunset, had a nice glass of wine, a tubby in the jacuzzi then retired to the comfy bed. However we were scared to death when we noticed the huge ceiling mirror above us! Enough to give us PTSD! Hahaha! Truthfully, one of the nicest places we stayed. So comfortable and loved the store next door. Very convenient and spent a ton on all the choices for souvenirs! Thank you for a great time!

Room Tip: Take the honeymoon cabin!

Great location in Gros Morne. The cabins are clean and very well equipped - when is the last time you had a surplus of towels? Whether we needed help with internet connections or getting the lobster boil up to temperature the staff was really helpful. The separate barbecue building is great for a group party and you can get fresh fish from the plant just metres away. Also Earle's bakery across the road is a good source of hiking nutrition in the form of home made eatmore bars and other goodies. The cabins are a great base for an outdoor holiday and if the weather is foul you could entertain yourself with the biggest TV I encountered in our Newfoundland stay.

Clean comfortable cabins. Had a two bedroom. Bit pricy at $189. No view- only cabin they had left. Our wi-fi was fast and worked excellent for our two night stay. Believe we had cabin 24. There is a large grocery store and laundromat on the property. Be sure to check expiry dates at the store as I saw some dip (for chips) that had expired 6 months earlier. Yikes. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: ask for a cabin with a view-- on the water.

Stayed in June for 4 days . Four adults rented a two bedroom cabin.. Accomodations were very clean but decor and furniture were dated. The couch in our living room sloped downwards.. Quiet while we were there but it was before the vacation rush.. . Internet service was very sketchy. View from living room window was nice over the water. The store close to cabins were stocked with canned goods etc but the fresh vegetables and fruit looked days old . So buy what you need fresh in a town before you hit the park area. Each cabin had their own bbq and picnic table so that was handy.. Enjoyed our stay there.. It was a prime location for visiting the park .

These cabins are terrific for vacationers in the area, with fully equipped kitchen, sitting area with TV, and cozy bedrooms. The entire cabin was clean and tidy as can be. Although locals considered the weather warm while we were there, we did not miss air conditioning - we're from the southern US where temps were over 100 so the 70's temps were wonderful to us with very cool temps at night. Cabins are placed closely together, and the cabins appeared to be fully occupied when we were there. Lots of children played on the lawn during the day, but our area was totally quiet at night. Very enjoyable. View of the harbour is beautiful with big picture window looking out on it from the sitting area. We were very happy with our cabin.

I stayed in cabin 19 with a friend (a group of 24 of us hikers) and was quite pleased w/ the kitchen facilities, the separate bedrooms, and overall cleanliness. The staff at the store next to the complex were quite helpful. Includes a laundromat as well so no need to schlep dirty clothes home. The view from the cabin was wonderful. There are plenty of picnic tables to gather around to celebrate the end of another great day in Rocky Harbour.

Check in was rather awkwardly through a desk in the rear of the adjacent shop, itself rather distant from some of the accomodation. The cabin itself was a bit dated, but perfectly outfitted and very clean, with full kitchen, sitting area, small bedroom and nice bathroom. The huge "living room" windows look out over the bay. Laundry facilities are nearby, as are the amenities of Rocky Harbour. The cabins are well-priced, but worth it given the location and amenities. For those who like complete privacy, this is not the case since most are "duplexes" and I could hear the people "next door".

Room Tip: Bayside is clearly best...
