We just arrived back home from our stay in Newfoundland at Island View Hospitality Home. (We were at the St Jude Hotel for the first 2 nights, followed by 5 WONDERFUL nights at the Island View.) Patricia is a wonderful hostess, and her home is very comfortable. She allows her guests to use her gas grill, gazebo, and kitchen, which allowed us to grill out one night and have a very relaxed dinner/drinks on the gazebo. We really appreciated that! She makes a wonderful breakfast each morning with homemade bread, eggs any style, bacon, homemade jams from local bakeapple berries and partridge berries, pancakes, quiche, and toutons w/molasses or syrup. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to hear all about Newfoundland, history, and areas to explore while you are there. Patricia is a retired teacher and she is very warm & knowledgeable. We enjoyed meeting people around the dining room table each morning at breakfast. If you are in Clarenville, this is the place to stay! If you are interested in a hotel rather than a B & B, then go to the Clarenville Inn. Their rooms are far superior to those at the St. Jude Hotel, but be warned---You will miss out on this wonderful opportunity to get to know a native Newfoundlander and you will miss out on the warm hospitality that Patricia has to offer!
