“Well refurbish and great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

Stopped here for a night and was impressed by the quality of the decor and design - clearly thought and money has gone into this. The room I had was out of the hotel front door, down the road (a few metres) and round the corner - a little disconcerting. Only other slight issue was an electrical noise, a little like a generator, but wasn't too intrusive.

Other real plus point was the food - we had the set menu and was excellent...really very good.

Would recommend the hotel, but do try to have a room in the main building

Room Tip: In the main building

We are returnees to this hotel and once again found the friendliness of the staff, the food, cleanliness and the general organisation all of the highest standard. Previously we noted that the hotel organised golf breaks for parties but they were quite happy to arrange games for my wife and I to games at Carmarthen, Newport Links (the ninth hole to be seen to be believed) and Cardigan Golf Clubs, with buggies and as was expected the arrangements all worked out perfectly. The reception staff all proved to be excellent and helpful in the extreme, ensuring we had the same bedroom as previous, with no query too much trouble for them, all in all an excellent stay at an excellent hotel. Back to the diet now.

A superb 2 night stay at the Emlyn hotel. The rooms are modern & spotlessly clean, with gorgeous Egyptian bedding. Dinner menu was exciting & prepared to perfection. Keith sourced our round of golf at Cardigan, & the staff were all helpful & pleasant. We had to leave especially early on Saturday, but the staff provided us with a lovely breakfast before we left. Lovely walks by the river, & some interesting shops in the main street. Well worth a visit. L. & A ....Swansea

Just spent a night in the Emlyn Hotel. I would recommend it. Very modern and up to date. Bedroom overlooking the garden centre and very quiet, ver clean and modern bathroom. The food in the evening was superb and the service was quick. The breakfast was fine but I thought on the small side,1 tiny sausage,1tiny black pudding 2 tiny mushrooms,it all looked lost on the plate.

Room Tip: we had a room overlooking the garden centre. very quiet.

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch and stumbled on this hotel who offered two courses for £9.95.

The £9.95 menu was very limited and had only two choices for each course which wasn't suitable for two of us so we ordered from the main menu which was more expensive.

The food was of very high quality and excellent, our only criticism was the £5.75 sandwich was tiny and came with a tiny basket of about 5 crisps, it was very nice, but we expected a bit more.

Firstly, we would like to thank Keith, Jayne, Italo and all the staff at Gwesty’r Emlyn Hotel for all their hard work on what has been one of the best days of our life! You where all so helpful and couldn’t do enough to make us and our guests feel welcomed.

We are so glad that we found this venue for our wedding reception on 1st March 2013. From our first meeting with Jayne planning the reception to the actual day happening was flawless; communication and attention to detail was fantastic.

We can’t fault the locally source produce that was purchased by the hotel for the wedding breakfast and cooked by Chef Italo. Everything was cooked prefect and all guests commented on how tasty it was.

The newly refurbished hotel and sleeping accommodation was modern, clean and comfortable. The bridal suite was luxury. Guests that stayed the night of the wedding were delighted with their overall stay. The morning after most guests enjoyed breakfast and there was plenty of choice available on the breakfast menu to suit all.

If you want love and care put into your wedding day, I couldn’t recommend Gwesty’r Emlyn Hotel highly enough for your special day.

Stayed here for my sisters wedding end of March. We couldn't fault anything. Food was delicious, service was of high standard, staff couldn't do enough to help and very welcoming. The owners themselves were hands on an appreciative of your custom. The rooms were immaculate and tastefully decorated. Would highly recommend!!
