We live in Chobham and we have two very acceptable but probably average Indian restaurants. If we fancy a really good curry we will drive to The Mango Lounge in Windsor which is very good but a bit far, and too far for a cab ride.
I had been passing Rays Indian daily as I passed by Woking train station and one Sunday when going to see Jimmy Carr at the theatre I gave it a go. I thought the food was superb and brought my other half.
We are now weekly visitors and this is our first choice. The decor is modern, chilled and airy with good music adding to the ambience. The food is very fresh, subtly spiced and well portioned. The pricing is good. The staff/ owners are attentive and friendly.
My mum is visiting and we took her along last night and she loved it - she said it was the best Indian food she had. I can't remember the names of each dish but we shared two vegetarian street food starters one being spiced fluffy potato balls and the other potato with a chickpea yoghurt and sweet and sour dressing; then a mild/ medium lamb and rice dish plus chicken biriyani and sides, and naan - two 'full' orders shared between three and was plenty.
Do give it a try as you will I'm sure really enjoy and help to make this a prominent fixture in Woking.
