“Restful night, nice staff, hopeless wifi.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

I stayed at this hotel on the spur of the moment. I'd had car trouble, it was late and I was exhausted. It was my first time as a Days Inn and I always assumed it would be like a Travelodge. The concept is very similar, but the choice of interior decor is a lot more pleasant than the older outgoing Travelodge style (no bright orange paint and ugly blue carpet/curtains). A nice surprise was the £25 walk-in room rate (i'd expected £40ish). The staff were nice, the room was very comfortable, I slept well. My only gripe is the free wifi which is heavily promoted. It doesnt work in the room at all, the only way I could access it was to stand in the stairwell (hardly ideal or comfortable). Even then, it frequently refused to authenticate. I asked about this at reception but the staff clearly didn't understand the problem (asking me what network provider I had, which is nothing to do with wifi). They really need to put some signal boosters in the corridors. Apart from that, very pleasantly surprised with my stay.

Room Tip: If you need wifi access, try and get a room near the stairwell.

Stayed one night but as I was on business needed a good night's sleep. Unfortunately this do not happen due to very soft bed which seemed to have no support whatsoever.
The room was very clean.

Bathroom needs a little tlc but shower quite amazing pressure.

Wifi was awful. None at all in the room I stayed in.

Stayed at the venue for 2 nights and had a very enjoyable visit. Room comfortable and functional with a really top notch shower which had the potential to blast away anything. Staff very friendly and helpful and the convenience of the services to eat next door made it ideal for my visit.

Room Tip: slip road to motorway exit is at the rear of the building

This is a typical chain motel, situated in an M25 service area and accessible from both directions of travel. The service at reception was friendly and efficient, the room large and clean, the bed comfortable. The bathroom, too, was clean and the shower hot. There is a limited selection of dining in the service area, adequate for one dinner and one breakfast.

This is a very basic motorway service station hotel. Free wi-fi, free parking and freeview TV is good but don't expect anything flashy. A lack of air con in the room means it can get a little stuffy but the window opens so it's not uncomfortable and the staff had clean irons and ironing boards to hand. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Two problems, though not the fault of the hotel, are that because the hotel is on the westbound side of the service station complex with the nearest junctions a few miles away either side, it takes 15-20 mins to get there even when you're at the eastbound side of the service station as the bridge connecting the two sides appears to have been out of service for some time. The other problem is rats outside, obviously attracted by all the litter and refuse from the service station next door.

Room Tip: If you have mobility problems or heavy luggage ask for a ground floor room as the first floor rooms...

Very basic but as expected on a motorway service station. Rooms were clean and a decent size and it was surprisingly quiet with no traffic noise. 10 yards from the services so what more do you need for a simple stop over.

We had booked this a little late in the day when the idea of driving straight from the continent to home seemed a little daunting. Places we had stayed before were already booked, but the generally positive reviews for this Days Inn persuaded us to give it a try.

The reception staff were welcoming and helpful; explaining that our family room had been set up for two children and as we have one, offered to come to our room and remove the extra bed and bedding to give us more room. It was also explained that we could buy vouchers from reception to use in the services for meals for a discount.

Room was adequate and clean; we had a fan which was welcomed after our hot journey. Eating in the services made it a little more expensive than we may have liked, but was fine for the short time we were there. Although we were obviously vey close to the motorway, the hotel was surprisingly quiet and we would definitely consider staying there again.
