“Lovely hotel shame about the staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

Wanted to have a drink in the bar as a none resident and told we couldn't, even though there are no signs saying not open to none residents. Had a meal out there with friends a few months ago and after meal told we couldn't have a drink in the bar. Lovely hotel, really good italian meal in the restaurant, however rules about the bar are strange and staff on both occasions were rude and very unhelpful, not good!

Room Tip: Don't expect a drink in the bar it will either be closed or not allowed.

We stayed here for one Saturday night. Good rooms clean and spacious and a good location. Perfect room for a night at a good price we paid £50 for a double room. We were put in a room over the road in the annex accommodation which was fine. Would use again if we need a room for the night in Romford.

Large clean room with plenty of storage space.I did not have time to try the breakfast and italian restaurant facility. The bar and restaurant opens from midday.A ten minute stroll north to Gidea Park which has four indian restaurants,Ship pub and Archers pub with Sky sports.Only a five minute stroll into Romford centre.Buses stop outside and only a short trip to Romford Railway station with frequent trains to London.About a ten minute drive to A127 which links to Southend and Dartford crossing to the South. The reception, bar and restaurant are on one side of the road and the rooms with a front and rear car park across the road. There was a lot of litter in the car parks doubtless left by a few careless guests but it should have been cleared up.I will be going back to this hotel.

We only had an overnight stay but would deff stay again.
Everyone very friendly and location great.
Was lovely to stay on site of original building.
The one thing I would say is that a little TLC required.
And this building and rooms could be outstanding.

OK the price is not so high, but the room is basic, the bed uncomfortable (the mattress was very worn with springs easily felt through the sheets) and the continental breakfast leaves much to be desired - six of seven bowls in the pile next to the cereal basket were dirty, two of the plates next to the toaster were stuck together and the cereal packets in the basket were covered with some spilled then dried liquid.

Went here on Saturday night for our christmas do, food and entertainment very good had a great time no problems at all. One minor negative bar prices a bit on the high side almost £20.00 for a bottle of house wine. But that said overall a great place and would go back again.

Booked a Christmas Party Night for a group of 22 and had a brilliant night! The hall looked lovely and very festive with the tables beautifully decorated. We were served our 3 course meals and the variety of different choices were all good. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff , they were polite and friendly and it was great to be able to order drinks at the table rather than have to wait at the bar. The disco went on until 1am and was fantastic, happy to play all requests..
Overall great value, great atmosphere and the night was a great success........ We will definitely be booking for next year as soon as we can!!!!
A big Thank you to Paul and all his staff for a fantastic night!!!
