“The Cedar Tree Tapas...Yes please!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

Three of us went to the Cedar Tree last night. It was amazing. Plenty of choice of hot tasty food brought out in stages, unlike another Tapas bar in Rochdale! We had time to eat each course (which were decent portions) at very reasonable prices. The staff and service was excellent. They were efficient and very helpful.
All 3 of us had 3 dishes each and a desert, (which wasn't bought in and defrosted) AND, they had cheese and biscuits !
The bar was clean and tidy and there was a good ambience, with people enjoying their food with friends. If there is only one thing to mention, it would be that the bar was a bit cold. They need to turn the heating up a bit. Apart from that, it was a great evening, with fab food at a reasonable price. Thank you Cedar Tree Tapas, for a job well done!

“DON'T GO HERE ON CHRISTMAS DAY”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

We booked last October for Christmas day lunch ,our table was booked for 3-45pm. We arrived at 3-15 for a pre dinner drink ,it was as you would expect very busy , we had to ask where to sit nobody showed us to our table and we ordered a bottle of wine (we had already pre ordered our food) the starters arrived at 4-20pm which we had finished by 4-30pm ,at 5-10pm we asked how long our next course would be but nobody got back to us by this time every body seemed to be complaining that they were waiting far to long between courses at 5-30 pm we had finished our bottle of wine and left but not before I told the lady in charge exactly how we felt , she gave no apology or explanation at this point we were starving and went for a curry . I think through sheer greed they had over booked and just couldn't cope .We had sat for 1 1/2 hours and only had a starter which is totally unexceptable . We will be going out next year for xmas lunch but we will be giving The cedar tree a very wide berth.

“Confused interior theme”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2013 via mobile

Went here with friends on a Saturday evening, received into bar area that took half the floor space and had a 'pub feel'. Nice decor and we seemed to wait a while for our table even though not busy. Tapas type restaurants shouldn't take much in the way of table prep. After being seated, service is good, menu ordered from a printed table mat. Food was quick to arrive but was expensive for the portion sizes delivered, actually more like city centre prices than what you should expect here. Some tasty dishes, fairly standard British interpretation of tapas, would have been nice to try something different. Our overall impression was it is neither one main theme or the other, the eating area didn't have too many tables and lacked atmosphere as a result. After visiting many tapas establishments across Spain, this was very much a half way house. Pleasant enough though.

“Good venue but expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

This restaurant is based on a Tapas theme but you can get steak which is absolutely cooked to perfection
The interior is very modern and is a good feel place but it can be expensive.
You will not have a wide choice if you are not going with the Tapas theme
They do offers in the local newspaper which may help keep the costs down
