Oh dear what a shame nice surroundings but very, very POOR value, Do not come here if you are a vegetarian or expect good value for money. We, a party of 10 were charged £9.99 for a vegetarian dish that was basically a few green leaves on a small cricket bat. This preposterous trend of serving food on wooden boards is both unhygienic and impractical, I honestly cannot imagine the "chef" at the Prince Rupert arranging this paltry salad on a dirty wooden plank with a straight face. I should have been alarmed when their idea of a vegetarian meal was just to remove a portion of beef from a dish and discount the price by £2,00, the quote from the bar staff was 'it's the same but without the beef'. When the meal arrived I was so shocked that I said to the waitress that I wasn't happy paying £10 for a few salad leaves with a dressing. A manager appeared and I was refunded the cost of the meal. Yes the money was refunded but the moment was spoilt forever by having to complain. Sadly the rest of the meals were nothing to write home about, £12 for a microwave lasagne, food served on bread boards. a microwave pie with a puff pastry top surely you expect more for £12+ meals, I do!
