The Robin Hood Lodge advertised as an....."Executive luxury lodge" Executive luxury it is not! A two seater leather settee that is not big enough for two to really lounge on is not what I would call luxury. The carpets in the bedrooms had seen better days and the dust around the edge of the rooms could be sorted with a powerful hoover. (Although if you used a powerful hoover on the carpet it would probably disintegrate!) The wood effect vinyl flooring was in need of a refit too. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils but I couldn't really see the point in a dishwasher in a lodge for 3 people? A washing machine would probably be more useful to people! The spa bath jets would not adjust so they were on full power and quite uncomfortable after a few minutes. I would describe the lodge as standard.... not executive luxury.
We also arrived to the road where the holiday forest is to see a road closed sign due to flooding. There is a ford over the road and there was no way of getting through it. A sign from them would be useful in such circumstances with alternative directions. A kind local went out of his way to show us an alternative route after I had tried to contact the reception for directions and no one was answering the phone.
It may sound like we didn't have a great time, but we did enjoy our break, its just the way Hoseasons website describes the lodge is not what the lodge is like!
For the price we paid it was a good value standard lodge and we would return in the future.
