We ate at the Honey bee last night with some friends. It was our third visit, the previous visits being good experiences. We had booked and there were no problems with the reservation, on arrival we had a nice round table near the window, a prime seat. It was drafty though so maybe only a table to sit near on a warm day. Service took ages for both drinks and food orders, it hadn't on previous occasions. There was no apology for this either even when we politely asked if they were busy, they weren't. The food was a bit disappointing too, the fish, unlike other occasions was greasy and the chips were tasteless and somewhat undercooked. You can upgrade incidentally to a better serving of chips, at more expensive cost! Still, I didn't have to cook it and I was tired that night so paying for someone else to was what I needed. That said, it's not cheap at the Honey bee so we were a bit fed up. We weren't asked which wine we would like, I had presumed they only had one white wine but noticed on way out that they had a few types. I hope for their sake the Honey bee had just had a bad night last night but I don't think we will be going again. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that are consistently good.
