Had a family meal here at lunchtime on our way to Manchester Airport. Three of us had Falafal Wraps whilst the other had Hunters Chicken. We also had sides of chips and cauliflower cheese. As mentioned before, the food is not cordon bleu and doesn't pretend to be, but the menu is varied (3 of us are vegetarian and we were fine) and you can choose from light bites to substantial meals. Our meals were tasty and filling, and portions very generous. Service was reasonably quick, despite the pub being packed (on a Tuesday lunchtime!) and the barman who served our drinks was very friendly. There's a decent selection of real ales and wine by the glass so all of us were happy. The pub is welcoming and the surroundings pleasant, with lots of outdoor seating too for warmer days. The total bill for a very filling lunch for 4, plus two rounds of drinks (some alcoholic, some soft) came to £42; very reasonable. We will certainly go again if we have an afternoon flight.
