“Quiet and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2011

Have stayed several times at this Premier Inn due its proximity to family. Never fails to provide a comfortable stop-over. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and those at the back are very quiet. Plenty of parking. Excellent food (thai) at adjacent pub. Only suggestion would be the TV is a bit dated compared to other Premier Inns and the mattress is quite hard. Have only had one bad night with noisy guests arriving during night from airport and clearly partying in the room above (not the fault of the Premier Inn) - and to the credit of the staff they acted immediately, dealing with the problem, and the good night sleep guarantee was homoured the next mornign without question. I would not hesitate booking here or recommending to others.

Room Tip: Rooms at back are very quiet

I stayed here in late July with a dozen relatives who were in Wilmslow for a family celebration nearby. The Premier Inn suited our purposes very well and at £29 per night the room rate was indeed great value. It is in a pleasant wooded location, with plenty of parking space and adjacent to a pub with a superb Thai restaurant. The level of traffic noise at night is low and the bedrooms seem to be adequately soundproofed as I heard nothing from the next rooms. My room was very clean with comfortable beds and the bathroom had a powerful shower.
The pub offered a choice of 3 types of breakfast. I was satisfied with the price and quality of the full cooked breakfast. However, the rather dark ambience of the dining room, which is also the Thai restaurant, was more suited to evening meals than morning time.
Our party dined one night in the Thai restaurant. I was very impressed with this meal: wide choice, excellent and plentiful food and very good value altogether.
The staff at reception were all most welcoming, courteous and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this Premier Inn to anyone visiting the area.

We have stayed at the Premier Inn Wilmslow on numerous occasions when flying out of and into Manchester airport. It’s fair to say it may be a little further from the airport than some of the other hotels, but in our mind it’s well worth it. The staff are fantastic, always receive a very warm welcome by reception, whatever time of day or night we arrive. The check in is always speedy and efficient, always appreciated, but especially after a long flight when all you want to do is drop in to bed!

We have also eaten from the Thai menu at the Boddington & Dragon pub, preferring to take it to our room so we can relax and watch television, when flying early next morning. Nothing is too much trouble. They provide you with cutlery and big warm plates napkins etc to take to the room with the food. If we’ve ever arrived too late for the restaurant food, or like last boxing day (when the restaurant was closed naturally), the reception staff provide takeaway menus and arrange a taxi to collect the food and bring it to reception. Again even though it is food brought in from outside of the hotel, still provide us with cutlery and crockery.

The hotel is a short taxi ride into Wilmslow itself, where there are some lovely bars, shops and restaurants.

The rooms are always immaculately clean and very quiet. The chambermaids to a great job and are ever so friendly.

We have never actually eaten breakfast in the restaurant, as we are usually leaving early and prefer to get something at the airport, just to put a bit of time in.

The hotel order taxis to the airport, using a local firm who are most efficient and never let us down yet.

All in all I would recommend this Premier Inn to anyone staying in the area or flying out of/into Manchester. The staff are an absolute credit to the hotel, particularly reception staff (and I will take note of their names next time!).

Thank you all for the many enjoyable stays. We have booked for September – one night prior to flying and for a night on the way back too – it makes a lovely start/end to the holiday.

Very friendly staff, room quiet, everything clean and comfy. We stayed here last year to visit family and it was just as good this year. we ate in the restaurant next door - the George and Boddington - the food was surprisingly good but the surroundings were a bit tired and in need of updating

The racecourse road premier Inn continues to be excellent value for money. WE stayed there en route to our move to the North from london. AFter a very stressful couple of moving days it was great to get to a fresh and clean room that hasn't cost the earth, with a spacious room for us and the children and all the basic needs you could ask for. The Thai food in the restaurant/bar is delicious, but the breakfast is not one I would recommend but we were refunded for that by Elaine on reception and given a great welcome by Sarah who remembered us from the last time we stayed. Restaurant is turning into Carvery in September - Boo!!!

Room Tip: we have stayed on ground floor overlooking back of restaurant, which was fine. don't miss a wal...

My family and I stayed here for just one night, but Sarah the receptionist provided us with excellent service from the moment that we arrived until we had to leave. She is really the reason that I am writing this review because I was so impressed with her positive helpful attitude. No request was too much for her and she even found time to engage with both my kids. She really was a fantastic example of 5 Star Customer Service with sugar on top! The hotel itself was quiet, clean and tidy with a large comfortable bed for the adults. It was amazing value for the money. Especially considering we spent almost the same amount of money in Starbucks for one round of coffee's etc, on our way there. The breakfast provided in the restaurant was also brilliant value, as I only paid £7.99 for my English breakfast and they fed my 2 kids age 4 and 6 for free! Well done Premier Inn and thank you Sarah, we will definately be back!

Room Tip: family rooms are on the ground floor and the hotel was very quiet!

Hotel was in a good location, easy to get to and easy to find. Parking was ample and close to the hotel entrance.
Everything is as you would expect from this hotel chain, staff were polite, pleasant and helpful. The hotel adjoins a Thai/Chinese pub restaurant. Didn't eat at the restaurant as there are other good restaurants nearby.
I found the rooms to be a little tired, not too bad, but could do with a re-paint. Generally a nice hotel.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the directly over-seeing the restaurant.
