“A treasure trove”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

I have lived in this area all my life & there is always something new on display on every visit. Realy gives an insight to both visitors & locals of the history of this small market town Entertains both kids & adults.

“Always interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

I really should go more often! The displays change and there's always something new to see. The building itself is worth exploring, being built from timber frame and wattle & daub originally. Plenty about Horsham's history, how people lived, and a very pleasant courtyard garden. Quite a few old photos too, but they are maybe more interesting to peole who live (or have lived) in the town, rather than visitors. Maybe not suitable for the under-5s but there should be something for school-age children, even if it's just the gaol cell! There was a good display of (mostly 20th. century) wedding dresses and also Japanese ceramics from the V&A when I was in. It's easy to while away an hour or two - allow an hour minimum for a visit.

“A house full of treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Horsham museum doubles up as the tourist information beaureau as well. The staff are friendly and helpful. The museum is full of little rooms that hold numerous exhibitions and treasures. There is a jail inside the museum. I took my nephews into see the museum and they thought it was great and want to visit again when they return to Horsham. The museum is tucked away at the top of the causeway. There is a garden at the back where there are some barns and sheds that have bikes and tractors in.
I am not sure if this still applies but you could get married there if you wanted to, it holds about 24 people.
It is difficult to park closely, as there are double yellow lines all down the causeway, but it is well worth a visit.
