Description: Housed in a 16th Century building in the historic town of Horsham, Restaurant Tristan opened in 2008 and has been a firm favourite with local foodies ever since. Inside, original wooden beams contrast with contemporary style to create an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Chef and Proprietor Tristan Mason worked in top restaurants like The Greenhouse and Mirabelle before becoming Head Chef at The Hare where he achieved his first Michelin Star. The menu at Restaurant Tristan is predominantly British with some creative French influences, with dishes like terrine of pheasant and turbot with truffle risotto taking centre stage. Ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible and the extensive wine list is designed to complete this truly unforgettable dining experience.

“Faith in Michelin restored”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We had given Michelin places a miss since a bad experience in Chez Bruce last year but the excellent reviews for Tristan and the fact that he is on the up tempted me here.

It was all top class and worthy of Michelin status. Great value at lunch time and as a bonus a pre starter smoked salmon velouté was thrown in. Food is all very clever with a lot of bits and pieces on the plate but it is flavoursome and perfectly cooked. Portions are a bit on the nouvelle cuisine side but there is a continual supply of bread on offer so you will not leave hungry. Soufflé for desert was beautifully done.

Service was excellent; informed and attentive but friendly. The three staff did a really good job in an almost full dining room.

“No resting on his Laurels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

This was our first time back since Tristan was awarded his Michelin star and the food and service have improved if that were possible. His current menu is to die for making your choice will be very difficult.
Continued success to you Tristan, it is great that Horsham has such a great venue.

Love this restaurant. The food is fantastic and a real treat after the many chain restaurants in Horsham. Ambience lovely too - would very much recommend to anyone. Good value lunch for the quality of the food.

“Amazing food, a fantastic evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Highly recommend Tristians. Could not fault anything at all. Both starters and main were delicious, the Monkfish the best I've ever had. We have been to a couple of Michelin resturants and we found this one to be far more relaxed and friendly. Thanks for a great evening and amazing food.

“Pricey, but great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

This is the Heston of West Sussex - Tristan creates unique dishes well worth trying. Expensive, but a culinary treat.
