“The Perfect Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

We stayed for a weekend in this very picturesque cottage. The room was lovely with excellent attention to detail. The breakfast was superb with homemade preserves and nothing too much trouble. This really is the standard to which other B&B should aspire. A real find with a warm welcome and a great base for the area. Excellent restaurants and plenty to do in the area. We would highly recommend.

We recommend this B&B be placed on your "To Visit List". The rooms are 2nd to none and Geoff & Mary very helpful with any requests or suggestions, Don't miss the chance to visit them. Lots to do in the area, we enjoyed an afternoon in Horsham and also visiting the auto museum as well as Henry VIII castle. All within short driving distance.

Mary and Geoff are really the best host you could wish for, nothing was to much trouble the room was excellent and would match many a posh hotels.
The service was unbeatable as was the food. I would really find it hard to say anything bad about Geoff and Mary's home or them PERFECT.

Hollywood star Ray Milland owned this house for over 20 years - wonderful combination of old-world charms, modern conveniences and English service. Wooden doors, antiques, soft-close toilet seats, beamed ceilings and yes, straw roof. Breakfast to order, music playing softly as you gaze off into the garden lawns and forest beyond the natural wooden gate. Quiet but on a busy highway so the back room upstairs may be better albeit it lacks the bath/shower combo facing the front. Great lending library - cable, wireless internet and all the help you need about where to go and what to do - lovely pub 3 minutes away by car called Chequers.

This is outside of Horsham and from town about a 12-14 GBP ride plus an added 2 gbp if you pay by credit card, so the only real trade-off is the quiet country feel for the extra cost of the transportation - no sidewalks to stroll on. Please come and enjoy something that soothes the soul.

We stayed at this B&B as a base for visiting the Ardingly Antique Fair. This is the most beautiful house and we would thoroughly recommend it. If you want to stay in a welcoming, spotlessly clean B&B then look no further. The rooms are charming and every window of the house provides a view of their beautiful garden. The welcome was warm, the breakfast absolutely delicious and we were genuinely sad to leave. The house is full of lovingly restored furniture and antiques so all in all it was the perfect break for us.

WOW. That was my reaction on seeing the house. The wife and I stayed here on the 27 of September for 3 nights. Mary and Geoff are really friendly, helpful and approachable and quick to offer a cup of tea. they really seem to enjoy running a B&B and engaging with their guests. The breakfasts are really good with the traditional English fry up,organic cereals and delicious home made preserves. The hosts also speak fluent French. We had some lovely fresh cherries left in our room every day. A comfortable large double bed and a large en-suite. The nearby villages have good pubs serving some excellent pub grub. Horsham is a really nice town with some good independent shops and cafes. And there's a lovely park next to the town centre. On Saturdays there are street stalls selling local fresh produce. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much.

Myself & my partner enjoyed a lovely stay here - we arrived late due to flight delay & dreadful weather but Mary & Geoff were friendly & welcoming. Breakfast was delicious - I particularly enjoyed the homemade preserves.
The bedroom was beautifully appointed and, as a person rather fussy about bathrooms, I was delighted that the ensuite was immaculate.
I would definitely stay again.
