“Pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2011

We were part of a large group travelling on the following day to our sons wedding. Hotel was easy to find, very handy for motorway, clean and quiet with a decent choice on menu. Food was ok but my steak was very tough. Seating in bar area was a problem if you just want to have a beer and watch tv or read the papers because all but 4 tables were reseved for diners, 3 x 2 seaters and 1 x 4 seater, if those tables are occupied you have to stand and if you're standing you're in the way.

Stayed here to attend a wedding at nearby Carlton Towers. Arrived early before 2 pm checkin, no problem, luggage was stored for us until room was ready. Requested a taxi booking for the next day to go to the wedding, Stewart (Manager) sorted this for us and promised if it didnt turn up he would take us himself (full marks for that Stewart).Went into York for the afternoon and upon our return luggage had been placed in room and suit carriers hung up(more brownie points) Breakfast and lunch in the restaurant couldnt be faulted and served by very pleasant staff. An enjoyable stay in a clean comfortable hotel and so nice to be dealt with by well trained staff who are there for the customers and not just the paypackets at the end of the day.

P.S The taxi did turn up by the way

We stayed here for a friend's wedding up the road and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, comfy bed and cleanliness. I have stayed in budget hotels before so wasn't expecting much but we got great value for money here. The hotel is by two main roads so you have to expect a bit of traffic noise but it wasn't as bad as I had expected, it certainly didn't stop us sleeping well. Room was a good size and the bed very comfy. Lunchtime check out was a god send after partying all night at the wedding reception. Good value accomodation, would use again.

Stayed here for one night on our honeymoon. The rooms were clean, the water pressure was great, the service was excellent. We only gave them a 3 out of 5 for location due to the nearby cooling towers. Right off the highway was convinient but the close nuclear plants made my wife uncomfortable. We did like the over-lapping curtain rods to help block out that early morning sun.

A very warm friendly smile welcomed me at the reception of the Premier Inn near Goole. Lovely young lady dealt with my check in very professionally and quickly. The room was very clean and spacious. I decided to eat in the adjoining restaurant - Brewers Fayre - and the food was excellent and the service was again very friendly. Next morning, after a good night's sleep, I had a premier breakfast - well cooked and plentiful. Yet again very friendly staff serving. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to family, friends and weary travellers. Thanks for a great stay.

It's very rare to experience any difficulties with a Travel Inn; I have been using them extensively since 1992 and have never had a significant problem. They are always clean and tidy, and equipped with all the usual facilities: tea & coffee making, TV etc. However, when taking a bath, do make sure the bathroom door is closed before, during, and afterwards! The fire detector sensors are very efficient, and steam from the bath can easily set them off, as I found out about some years ago at one of the other Travel Inns!

Probably the best aspect of this particular Travel Inn is its location immediately adjacent to J36 of the M62, allowing excellent road communications west, east, (and via the M18, south), although going north requires a little more concentration! There is, at the time of writing, a vending machine in the foyer of this Travel Inn, which dispenses drinks, crisps etc.

The Goole Travel Inn shares a site with a McDonald's restaurant and a couple of garages. While these are useful facilities, there seems to be a fair amount of parking on the link roads by heavy goods vehicles, which is a bit irritating, and requires extra care when entering or leaving the site.

  • Liked — The useful location, next to the M62 motorway.
  • Disliked — Annoying parking by HGV's on link roads nearby.
