“Needs renovating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

I stayed in this hotel for two nights with my daughter to attend a music festival. I've used Premier Inn lots of times in the past, although not this particular location.

The staff were brilliant - happy and helpful. The room, however, was not so good. It stank of stale cigarette smoke, as did the 'air cooler' (i.e. fan). The decor was damaged and in need of complete renovation. Noise from the surrounding rooms was loud and intrusive. The location is dreary, in the middle of a vast industrial estate, though to be fair the low room rate pretty much reflects this. On the first night of our stay, there were groups of teenagers hanging around in the car park, smoking and swearing so we had to keep the window shut. There was also constant noise from airplanes/helicopters which I didn't expect as there aren't any airfields nearby. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the food.

If you're just looking for somewhere cheap to sleep and you're not fussy, this hotel will do. If you'd like a little more comfort, there are better Premier Inns out there.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for a family visit to London with our two children (aged 4 and 6). We received the usual friendly and efficient service at check-in, even though their computer systems were down and it had to be dealt with manually. We booked a family room - an absolute bargain at £97 for 3 nights. The room was a good size for a double bed and 2 singles. All clean and well maintained. The hotel appeared to be quite busy but we were never bothered by any noise. We used the adjoining restaurant several times for dinner and breakfast. Always met with a smile and friendly service. The food was good and reasonably priced.

This hotel is a perfect base for travelling into London - the nearest station is an easy 10 min walk (with children) and trains leave for London Liverpool Street every 25 mins or so.

Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and we will definitely use it again!

Stayed for two nights with my family (we had two rooms), they didnt have the twin room that I had booked available so we had to take a 'family room'. This meant one of our party slept on the sofa bed which was not all that comfortable.
Both rooms were slightly below average for Premier Inn - a couple of cleaning/maintenance issues in the bathrooms, rusty plugholes, puckered floor covering, chipped bath panels - but for us fussy travellers it was acceptable for the price that we paid. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were good quality and crispy clean. We were on the 3rd floor and the only noise issue we had were the other guests that returned to their room after one too many, but this can happen at any hotel.
We had breakfast both days and it was the normal Premier Inn standard - good and varied.
We ate at the Table Table restuarant attached to the hotel one evening, the food and service were both of a good standard. We felt a little harrassed to leave the table when we finished the meal even though our server told us 'no hurry guys'. Our plates and glasses were cleared as the last mouthful was still being chomped on!
Overall I would be happy enough to stay here again if it was available at the cheap rate but would probably begrudge paying full price for it.

Room Tip: No sound issues on the 3rd floor.

This hotel is very handy for tube routes to London. A very good sized car park with lots of spaces and it's free. Very good and efficient reception. The room was very clean, warm, a good size and everything worked. A large very comfy bed.
But. Unfortunately the floors above me, I was on the ground floor, creaked loudly when walked on and at 5am it tended to wake me. I had a 16 hour day ahead of me and was disappointed not to get a good nights sleep. This will not put me off using this hotel because everything else was great. I will just ask for another floor next time.

Room Tip: Watch out for creaking floors above you. I was in room 2 on the ground floor.

We came to be close to London (you can walk to the nearest station in 10 mins). My wife and 2 kids shared a family room, 2 single beds for the children. Really great value and the breakfast was brilliant. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Free parking is another bonus. All in all a really great experience.

Room Tip: Go to Stratford and into John Lewis for a great view of the Olympic Park
