“Premier Inn Chessington, business trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

Our company have stayed here before and would do so again.Handy for Sanddown racecourse whcih is about 10-15mins by car.
Rooms clean and bright, all of hotel staff very friendly, helpful and informative.
The breakfasts very tasty and nice to see some of the same staff that were there over 12 months ago. We also ate in the Beefeater and food choice was good. Slight hiccup this visit on Friday evening as our meals took a long time to arrive and then some of them were wrong, but the staff dealt with it all very politely and professionally.Despite this I would still recommend the hotel and restaurant to anyone for business or pleasure

No smell of damp in our room this weekend - it was very clean and of a good standard, so I don't know where the previous writer was in the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and for a quick visit to see friends in the area it was exactly what we needed. The staff in the Beefeater next door at breakfast-time were also very friendly and very helpful. Great for people visiting the zoo as it is right on the doorstep.

For a low cost hotel it is much better than Travelodge!

We looked at the cost of rooms before we were sure we could get away and on the Sunday the room was cheaper than when we booked on the Monday. I don't know if this is the case every Sunday, but I'll certainly check again next time I need to stay, just in case!

Room Tip: We were on the first floor, overlooking the car park and it didn't smell of damp!

Booked two rooms here while our team were working in the area on business. The smell of damp just hit you when you walked into the rooms and was evident on the walls. One of our team was so badly affected by this he developed a cough. Have never had cause to complain before about a Premier Inn but this one was awful and would not stay again, when we are working in the area again we will definitely find another hotel. The only good thing about the stay was the quality of food in the restaurant next door.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend (good deal for weekend stays) when we were invited to a family party in the area. The room was very nice and the staff were extremely friendly. I believe that this was very good value for money. We had a room on the ground floor and obviously needed to make sure that the window was closed when we left the room so can understand the comment about security but it is your responsibility to do this. The food in the pub next door was fine but would suggest that sunday lunchtime is not a good time if you don't want kids running about.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor if your not good at checking that the windows are closed

Chose this location due to being so close to Chessington Zoo. We'd decided on a group booking for a few nights over the New Year period. Their customer service before arriving was excellent as I'd made a mess up of my booking and they were very helpful in sorting things out.

I arrived first and the initial welcome was friendly and very professional - unfortunately they had a technical issue which caused problems for everyone else checking in. The problem wasn't sorted out for the rest of our stay which prevented paying for meal deals, making credit card transactions and no internet.

Very convenient having the restaurant on-site and only a 5 minute walk to Chessington zoo and the Zafari restaurant in the nearby Holiday Inn hotel.

We'd been put on the first floor - normally prefer the ground floor - but the receptionist came up one evening due to 'complaints' from a room below. We had 4 rooms, we'd all arrived back from dinner 2 groups went directly back to our rooms and 3 people were saying goodnight to family in another room - that was it - and by the time he came up and knocked on their door, those 3 had actually already returned to their room so they felt they had to walk on egg shells in case the people below expected not to hear any walking around with a room above them.

The following night New Year's Eve we ate at their Monkey Puzzle restaurant; felt the night receptionist was very rude when we walked back into the hotel considering we we're not a rowdy crowd - we'd had a pleasant meal and only a bottle of beer and a glass of wine was drunk in our whole party of 15 people, but he was very rude. It was sorted out the following day but put a blot on our stay.

The rooms were impeccably clean and every time I passed a member of staff in the corridor they smiled and acknowledged with a friendly greeting.

There's not a shopping area or independent restaurants in walking or close vicinity - some not too far if you're driving, but It's such a great location for the Zoo and has reasonably-priced rooms that I would recommend it and stay again

I stayed for 3 nights on a work related trip. Could not fault the standards of the hotel but my van was broken into along with another van during my stay. The cctv is not good quality so do not rely on this to report to the police. If you are staying and have a van park close to reception and do not leave valuables inside if possible.

We stayed for 1 night. A family of three and grandparents in their own room. On arriving at reception we were greeted by a lovely receptionist who couldn't do enough for us. Our rooms were ready and waiting for us. As we entered our room there was a definite chill in the room but we soon sorted that by increasing the temperature. The room soon warmed up. It was clean and large enough for our family of two adults and our five year old son. The only downside was the size of the bathroom but it wasn't a major problem. It was tiny and quite claustrophobic. There were plenty of fresh, white fluffy towels, shampoo, shower gel and hand wash. The bed was warm and comfortable with a choice of pillows - soft or firm! There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room and were told that we could have more if needed. We booked the "meal deal" which was superb! There was plenty of choice from a set menu for dinner. This included a starter, main, dessert and a drink. You also get breakfast with the deal and the choice was excellent - cereals, fruit, yogurts, pastries and off course cooked breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, tomatoes, hash browns, etc). The food was extremely good. All in all our stay and meal was very good.
