“We enjoyed it overall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

the North Star in Chessington is a pleasant and clean pub serving tasty food at passable and acceptable prices. The menu was a mixture of traditional pub meals and some more usual ones. The seating was comfortable and it had a nice laid back atmosphere. Not exceptional but very good and well worth a visit. A small car park at the side.

“Pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Went here for Sunday lunch. They had run out of roasts by the time we got there (although that was after 4pm!) but most of the remaining menu was still available. I had the steak, stout, baby onion and pancetta pie with mash and green beans which was good value, very tasty and thankfully not drenched in salt. If you're so inclined, they also have a range of guest real ales, although I didn't like the one I tried (perhaps I should have asked for a taster first). Clearing and cleaning of empty tables could have been better, but the bar and food service was polite and friendly. In summary, nothing really amazing but a reasonable safe choice. I'd try and get there for 2/2.30pm on Sunday if you want a roast.

“LUNCH”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

The garden area is dirty all the ashtrays overflowing, table filthy and the ground even worse with litter and cigarette butts everywhere. We quickly drank our drinks and left.
If they can't keep the garden area clean I didn't fancy our chances with the food.
