This was my second trip to Chessington World of Adventure, the first being last summer. I enjoyed it then, but our visit during the February half-term weekend was dire. It was a very cold day, but, despite this, there were hundreds of people queuing to get in, and only one admission booth open. The place was not properly ready for business and to pay £40 admission fee for a family of four was robbery. Only two of the minor rides were open and over half the animal enclosures were empty. We only found one cafe where we could get inside and this was overwhelmed by mums and pushchairs. Almost everywhere was boarded up, run down and unwelcoming. I understand these places need maintenance during the winter months, so why open at all, when what is on offer is so poor and disappointing for children? It did not look as if Chessington could possibly be ready in time for the Easter holidays. Well done however to the gallant staff who tried to cheer us on, but it was an impossible task. A really bad outing, a waste of time and money.
