“Chessington is better in the summer”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

This was my second trip to Chessington World of Adventure, the first being last summer. I enjoyed it then, but our visit during the February half-term weekend was dire. It was a very cold day, but, despite this, there were hundreds of people queuing to get in, and only one admission booth open. The place was not properly ready for business and to pay £40 admission fee for a family of four was robbery. Only two of the minor rides were open and over half the animal enclosures were empty. We only found one cafe where we could get inside and this was overwhelmed by mums and pushchairs. Almost everywhere was boarded up, run down and unwelcoming. I understand these places need maintenance during the winter months, so why open at all, when what is on offer is so poor and disappointing for children? It did not look as if Chessington could possibly be ready in time for the Easter holidays. Well done however to the gallant staff who tried to cheer us on, but it was an impossible task. A really bad outing, a waste of time and money.

“Perfect For Family's With Young Children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Chessington World Of Adventures is an amusement park with a twist. It has a zoo area with animals like monkey's, penguins, tigers, elephants, giraffe's, tropical fish, seals and lots more. The rides at Chessington are a lot more child friendly and aimed at all ages. There is also a way of getting to see all the outdoor animals (not including fish) without walking a long distance which is perfect for young kids and disabled or older visitors. You take a ride on a skywire that goes all around the park so you can see all the big cats, monkeys and other outdoor animals. The do shows with the seals and seal lions and do public penguin feeding. The rides are mixed from the runaway train to the spinning teacups. The park is still appropriate for teens however. The rides range is age appropriateness as some rides are family friendly (all ages) while others are for more grown-up people (teens and adults). Chessington also has a range of food on sale such as hotdogs, burgers, warm doughnuts, chocolate apples and also marshmallows and strawberries dipped in white or milk chocolate. This park is great fun for all ages and perfect for a hot summer's trip out.

“Review by Freya aged 7 of Chessington”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

I very much enjoyed my trip to chessington.
The staff were very friendly and asked us are favourite things in the park.

The park was very clean with no litter whatsoever.I also saw staff cleaning out the bubble works seats.

Although the cafe food was nice ,my mum had to wait about 25 minutes to get 3 snack bag and 2 jacket potatoes !

When I went only 4 rides were open so there were 35 minute queues.

Would probably go back but at a different time of year.

“Looking very tired and in need of a makeover”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

What a way to treat their customers! Having spent over £250 on four annual passes, staff seem unconcerned you have to queue for 45 minutes to collect them. Advertised 5 rides operational today and turned out one of them closed. Kids will enjoy this place but adults will be aware that the park is in urgent need of a makeover.
