“Afternoon tea is lovely but pricey !!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

We have ate here a few times and the food is always good. I have also had the Afternoon Tea and at a price of £16 each its quite expensive....I paid less in London recently!! After all, it is only tiny sandwiches and a pot of tea !! Looks nice though and is a good tradition that I enjoy. I tend to go to the Shireburn Arms, Hurst Green now though because it's just has nice and only £10 each.
Mr Freds is a nice restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and worth a visit.

“A real pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

From it's name "Mr Fred's" I had imagined an up-market pub style venue, especially since there is also a full service restaurant on site too. I couldn't have been more wrong. A chic modern bistro with lovely views over the countryside. The lunchtime menu was extensive, particularly for the starter course which they style light bites. The portions though not huge are more than adequate and it also means you can do the full 3 courses without feeling guilty. Can't wait to go again.

“Upmarket lunchtime venue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

Visited Mr Freds recently for lunch. Easily accessible from the M6 motorway at Salmesbury and set in quite rural surroundings. It is part of the Hotel called Stanley House and is set upon a small hill overlooking informal gardens & rolling hills. The decor is quite contemporary, light & airy with lovely views from large picture windows. Food was of a good quality ranging from soup & sandwiches to more expensive main meals. We all had chocolate fondant for dessert and it was worth every penny of the £5.50. Will definitely return as the menu is quite extensive and there are lots more things I would like to try.
Also there is ample parking & disabled friendly.
