“Competitively priced business hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

Hotel Waalwijk has undergone a facelift in several areas most notably in the Resturant which has been improved significantly. The menu would benefit from an occasional change but the quality of the food is very good. I can recommend both the fish and chips and the mixed grill, hearty meals for the weary traveller or reasonably priced meals for he business traveller.
The staff are always helpful and carry out their duties with a pleasant smile. Rooms are basic and would benefit from air conditioning and better mattresses but are very clean, some exhibit vey unusual artworks - from a local Dutch artist who displays much of her work at the hotel.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of Waalwijk town centre which is well worth a visit as is the major tourist site Efteling just a few kilometres from the hotel.

Checking in it looks like an home for the elderly, but the hotel is good. Parking at te premises. Clean rooms, bath room outdated. Free and high speed wifi, not Eur 7.50 as advertised on the web site. Good breakfast. Would recommend this hotel to business people.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms spacious and clean. You can walk in to the town and its lovely. Nice shops and places to eat. Good selection for breakfast. The rooms do not have aircon but the hotel will provide fans on request. All in all a very pleasant stay. Unfortunately we didn't have chance to eat at the restaurant but we did have a drink and nibbles which were lovely and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend.

I've stayed at this Hotel in end November on a business trip to Waalwijk. The hotel reception and personnel was professional and friendly. The room was very cold and not so fancy or special in any kind. It is close to the city and shopping street. I ate one evening in the hotel restaurant and the food (meat) was very tasteful. Average hotel for short trips and not many nights. Nice and comfortable beds.

Checking into this hotel is a bit of a time-warp experience. You could be back in the seventies or eighties, then again the bathrooms could be from some far away Russian city hotel that once was great when communism was still seen as 'great'. This is the boonies. At least for Holland. No one is supposed to stay here. They are supposed to come and watch a 'voetbal' match on TV or give their wives a break from having to cook (that's right, you're in the boonies). But it's the service that caught or film crew's attention. They are simply nice and can-do people and that's what a film crew wants. Laid back and everything goes. In and out. What else do you want in the boonies?

I stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip recently. The hotel was clean and comfortable but some of the facilities in the room were tired and didn't work very well i.e. the hairdryer.
I had breakfast and lunch at the restaurant Aubergine, breakfast was adequate the usual cereal and continental breakfast, dinner was lovely I would recommend eating here.
My room overlooked the courtyard which can be very noisy if there is a function on, luckily there was only one function during my stay.

We only stayed 2 nights in this hotel (mid of August).
Reception - friendly and helpful
Rooms - comfortable and nice rooms. Only negative: there is no airco. (in this hotel there is only airco at the reception). Unlucky the days we were in the hotel: it was outside 34 degr. So ... the rooms were extremely hot. 'Lucky' there is a fan in the room.
Breakfast - simple but very good for this kind of hotel
Aubergine restaurant (linked to this hotel): very good !
