A perfect place for romantic couples, away from the city noise, dust and filth.
Here you are pampered back to nature with excellent "BIO" ingredients in all its finest details with the "Flair" of the "French" cuisine served by a most friendly professional "Mâitre d'hôtel" named Günter.......................Thanks also to the friendly staff at the Front Desk.

This hotel was the most dissapointing on our 2 week trip. The outside is very promising as the building is beautiful and the grounds are spectacular (even in winter).
What is disturbing is the renovation they did inside. Think what would happen if Ikea designed a prison (or a mental institute). Our second bedroom consisted of a glorified mattress on the floor and the furniture is so boring that it was hard to believe they would put that in such a historic building. I realize it is kind of a "Swiss design" but would it have killed them to hang a picture on the wall?
Anyway, the good news is the place is clean and the breakfast is great, but I would have prefered to stay somewhere else.

Old castle that has been renovated to house a hotel and seminar facility for local cultural events. Because of the latter the flair is more like a school than a luxury hotel. For example, internet service is only available (at no charge) in the seminar rooms (if not occupied). Surrounded by old park with impressive old trees but not very well maintained. Rooms are quite modern and spartan in strong contrast to the original architecture. View on Bodensee is nice but the hotel is separated from the water by a busy street and train tracks. Staff seems rather disengaged and used to backpacking tourists with little expectation for help with suitcases and such. Altogether quite overpriced for what it has to offer. The restaurant is good.

We stayed here with out twin 6 year old daughters for a long weekend after reading a recommendation in Lonely Planet. The schloss has been sympathetically restored but in a modern style, and the quality of the refurbishments to the fabric of the building are fantastic.
The restaurant is now open and is good, and uses produce from the hotel's own garden which one can walk around
The facilities for children are excellent. The views are good, although from the terrace they are obscured a little bit by trees in the distance
