imagine a youth hostel where underage kids are allowed to get drunk and with no supervision. It is a very tired dowdy hotel where you queue for ever to get two drinks only and where you almost have to fight gangs of marauding teenagers to get a seat. The best part of our holiday was escaping to the beach- our friends' room smelled of sewage and we were kept awake at night by drunken screaming teenagers

We arrived home from 7 long nights from the 26/6-3/7-2009 to dread the hotel after reading the reviews, everything was okkish until the monday when droves and droves of young fottballers from all over europe arrived for their annual event-then the holiday went down hill,as with some of the recent reviews please avoid this hotel around these dates as the hotel hosts an annual european football event,
the food was terrible and there was rabbit and very boney pork and pork and more pork,i lived on soup and chips.
I have visited spain 16 times and in all them times this by far the worst hotel ever, this hotel, this is not a 3 star hotel as i stayed in many over my experiences of travelling. My tip is to go to the Callella palace this hotel was a god send to as it acted as sanctuary from the rowdy chaos at the sister hotel olympic

Arrived to a huge group of people outside hotel and thought it was a youth hostel, this however was a normal night at the olympic, it is the noisiest hotel ever!! groups of youths running riot all over hotel at all times of day and night, things being thrown off balconies all night long into the pools below. The management and staff are not bothered by this and complaints go unheard.
FOOD- a typical example of whats on offer is rabbit, mutton, liver and other unrecognisable meat on bones.................awful!!
DRINKS- on arrival you are given a photo card to produce at all times, you are only allowed 2 drinks per card at a time and the ques at the bar are horrendous!( about 20 mins long ) the drinks are also funny tasting and come in plastic cups.
ROOMS- They only have twin rooms in the entire hotel so if you want a family room your kids will be squeezed into a 10ft by 7ft room with piled up furniture and then the patio door does not open more than 6inches.
MAIDS- While staying there they made beds but that was it! they did not pick up any empties nor rubbish, also i had my watch and earings stolen and the only people with access were the maids. The hotel did not want to know about this.
Overall i would not recommend this hotel to anyone not even to stay for free.......enough said!!!!!

We got back from the Olympic last night and I was glad to be home after a 4 day/3 night break. We went for a break with the kids for my birthday and we thought for the price we paid it was SHOCKING.

It says it'ssuitable for families - yeah the pools are great but that's about it. There was no kids menu so although we were All Inclusive we had to take the kids out for meals. There was 4 of us squashed into a twin room so getting in the wardrobe was a task and you had to be stick thin to get out on to the balcony which was really a hazord. I know you don't spend that much time in your room but it really was a struggle.

Clean towels every day, that was about it. Ladies if you are going, remember your hairdryer because unlike other hotels they don't have them.

The food was awful and snacks were just left over from the meal before. Drinks from the bar on an evening were about a 45 minute wait each time. The pool bar is good, you can get served there but shuts when the pool closes.

The hotel is full of teenagers which are exteremly noisy and rude. The majority of guests were forign and very ignorant. Staff were also not so friendly. There were only 2 we came across that were ok. There are no reps there to complain to, if you have a problem.

I've been to Calella before in a 3* hotel and this is NOT 3*. To be honest I will go back to Costa Brava just not to this hotel, the only reason we went was because the Golden Tourus in Penida was fully booked - now this hotel I would recommed to anyone with children.

Just returned from this hotel and my wife was dreading it after reading the reviews on here, but it is nowhere near as bad as people make out,Ok its not the ritz but for the price i was very happy, the last review from the lady in lancashire is bang on so im not going to repeat it, the only thing i would say is try to get on a higher floor as we were on floor 6 and hardly heard any noise but people on floors 1 + 2 had a bit of noise of spanish school children stopping there,So if you have the chance to go here at a bargain price just go and it really is not as bad as made out to be.
