“Pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

We only stayed for one night en route to England but were pleasantly surprised to find a modern, clean hotel. The bathroom was particularly pleasing with a large walk in shower. The buffet wasn't extensive but of good quality. Free wifi was a bonus. Like most hotels, the soundproofing isn't good so I could imagine it to be very noisy in the height of the season, but we were so tired after travelling, it didn't really bother us. We would stay again.

my husband and i have just returned from a nine night stay in this hotel and couldnt wait to get home. The food was terrible, burgers 4 days, beefsteak like shoeleather and tasteless, no chicken breasts only wings and tiny legs, breakfast was the same for the whole 9 days! there was nothing good we could say about the food and even what we had was always cold. a few people complained and we had a better selection the next day but that was short lived. there is only one coffee machine for all of the restaurant so you can imagine the chaos when a party of approx 50 dutch teenagers arrived for a week the staff could not cope, it was ridiculous.
The rooms are lovely, as is the cleaning staff but we would never go there again. Be warned.

We were transfered to this hotel after the one we were staying in closed for the winter. The service, staff, Management, were fantastic but for us the rooms! they were soooooo lovely, the food was good as well. The Hotel is selected as 4 star. for us it was 3 star with 4 star rooms and staff. The pool is a little small and the resturant can get crowded at peak times but everthing else makes up for the other things.

If the hotel wants to really be 4 star, our veiw is they should only be doing b&b or half board! drop fully inclusive it cheapens an otherwise very good hotel, the drinks are very reasonable all ready but an increase of say 10% would lead to better quality of drinks, also perhaps a pianist in the bar 3 times a week would also add a bit of class.

Would we go again? oh yes anytime.

Room Tip: rooms over the pool are noisy, rooms at the back have country veiws, They have large family rooms, T...

Hotel - This hotel is nice, has 4* fittings recently refurbed but would say good 3* overall. It has 4 floors about 50 rooms, big double beds comfy too..balconies on all...some familiy rooms, reception, pool bar.
Due to the hotel being small there is only one member of staff on at any one time so the service can be slow if they are working reception aswell. There is a sister hotel next door called bon respos...you can use thier pool and have drinks there but food must be consumed at the summer. outdoor pool - small and cold...there are about twenty beds...in height of season you would struggle to get a bed we did ok as the weather was not great. sun does not come round pool side till around midday. The room has a safe but its costs about 30 euros per week, the room has a flat screen tv but we only found two english channels, news and music....small fridge in the room for you to use, good working ac, good shower.
Food - enough choice but the amount of choice was reflected in the size of the hotel...we always found something to eat...if the hotel is busy go down early for dinner...we went out for the day and took a packed lunch provided by the hotel...more than substantial needs to be ordered by 8pm the day before. Pastries are on the bar for you to eat throughout the day.
Location - about 40 miles ish from the airport, we booked with from 2 taxis as a shuttle service, took us 3 hours after getting off the plane to get there, bit slow, better on the way back.
The resort is ok, lots of "tat" shops to look in, many bars and restaurants to use if you didnt go all inclusive...nice beach about 10 min walk away, bit breezy and water choppy, not so good for those that cant swim well.
20 min walk to the train station, just over an hour to barcelona...cost about £8 return..plenty of places to walk around in the evening and far enough away form the hustle and bustle of the main strip in town. we went through lloret de mar which appears to be the ibiza of calella, not the place if you want a quiet holiday.

Would recommend to anyone, hotel mainly for couples.

Me and my Friend (both 20) booked into the sister hotel Bon repos. When we arrived we got moved to the summer hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful we both had good size double beds and big balcony air con and just generally nice clean tidy room! Our rooms were cleaned everyday which was nice. The only problems with this hotel would have to be:
It is full of German French and Russian people ( we felt like the only English people there) whenever we went to dinner etc all they done was Stare at us and were rude in the queues.
The pool is tiny and doesn't get much sun in the day.
There is only ever one staff member on he bar and they cover reception at the same time so we had to wait for our drinks quite a lot!
There is no entertainment what so ever.
You can order food during the day like burgers and toasties but we were never told this until the last day by which time there was no point!
The staff are ok some can be a bit rude
But the guy who does the night shift (with the tattoos) is so nice! Our electricity went and we called him and he was up at our room within seconds!

We basically just slept in this hotel and had a few drinks at night. The rest of our stay was spent in the Bon repos hotel as it is a lot livelier and welcoming.
