We really enjoyed our brief stay in Cadaques and at this hotel in particular, which was recommended by friends who have been going there for years. The location and views are wonderful, the staff was very cordial and our room was comfortable with picturesque bay/city views. An extensive breakfast buffet with the best sausage and a lot of fresh fruit added to the experience.

We stayed 2 nights in Sept 2012 and truly loved everything about this hotel. We had a sea view room with a view of the bay, bed was very comfortable, aircon just right. Would have liked a mini fridge in the room. Hotel was quiet and is a bit of a walk to town but it is a beautiful walk. We enjoyed watching the people coming and going as we went. Don't miss Dali's house if you go - a little bit of a walk but worth it. Town of Cadaques is a challenge to drive in - narrow streets but we just parked the car at the hotel and spent our time walking and enjoying. One of my favorite towns on this trip.

I do have a couple of issues with our stay.
Firstly, the web site room descriptions are, I think, a little misleading; maybe not purposely so. The "Sea" room description says "Double room with balcony..." The description for the "Superior Sea" room says NICE double room with balcony. Well, you get a higher floor but the same style/sized room. The view is superior, not the room.
Secondly, we arrived after the official check-in time but were told our room was not ready, it would be 20 minutes. That turned into almost an hour. The reception could have handled this so much better. At least show some concern for the inconvenience or, better, the offer of a drink while we waited. But I won't judge the hotel just on this.
Our Superior Sea room was smaller than I anticipated but was adequate. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker. The view was what we were after and we certainly got that. The location suited us, being a little way out of town. The hotel was kept very clean. The breakfast was excellent and the dining room had beautiful views of the town. It was open 8:00 through 10:30. We got coffee there at 8:00, walked the sea front and town for an hour and then back for what amounted to a brunch.
We enjoyed our stay so it gets 4 stars.

We stayed here two nights. I would say a few things. The place is comfortable and quaint. The staff is gracious and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay. That said, it IS old and the inside of the hotel was clean but maintenance has not been a priority on the outside and the groundskeeping leaves something to be desired. The outdoor pool area was unkept and there was no evidence of maintenance.

But their free breakfasts are good and we didn't go there to use their swimming pool or hang around the outside of the hotel... Just a shame more attention isn't given to appearances on the outside. The hotel seemed pretty full and their price was reasonable. Lots of French from across the border just a short ways seem to frequent the hotel. It is still probably one of the best hotels there. There are no Hiltons, Hyatts, Marriotts or Four Seasons there. Not even a Holiday Inn. Its all local places in Cadaques and maybe that adds to the charm of this village.

You can hike to the middle of town in 15 minutes so just leave your car at the hotel. It is hard to find parking in town anyway.

We would go back if we ever decided to go to Cadaquez again.
