“Holiday September 2013”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Excellent hotel, thoroughly enjoyed our week here & will happily return. The facilities in the room were really good, no extra charge for air con, hot showers with a decent amount of pressure (I love a good shower!) my only gripe would be twin beds but I can live with that for a week! Rooms are a good size & the hotel provides a mosquito killer. If you want tea or coffee you need to take a kettle & your own tea & coffee. Pools fantastic, excellent gym, spa & the animation team were brilliant. The food was really good considering the size of the hotel, dishes were constantly replenished & plenty of freshly cooked choice. You would have to be very fussy not to find something you could eat!

I had read a lot of the reviews and was optimistic. I had emailed the hotel one month before, asking for a room near to the baby pool and a quiet area. We were put in a room 4119 and 4120....around the main pool and the noisiest part of the hotel. We had no cot for our 20 month old. Had to ask twice for this....we ended up with 2, one in each room.

The room was kept very very clean, however, I don't think our bed sheets were changed whist we were there.

The baby pool area is where we went most. Our little girl loved it, it was quiet in this area and was kept clean.

Food-I've been to other 4 star hotels and had much better. But overall the food was decent. Lots of fish and meat but did tend to find what was left over from the previous nights meal was used the next day for lunch. My other grip is we had to heat our toddlers bottle in the microwave......THIS IS A HEALTH HAZARD.......it was SOOOOOO DIRTY FILTHY DIRTY.I had to ask twice for it to be cleaned......it never was. Also, the high chairs for the babies were all filthy. I had to clean this every time we ate. I also cleaned it after it had been used..

The rooms are dated and do need updating, but you only sleep in there. The beds are uncomfortable. Th sun beds could be better, some are very dirty. I'd suggest you get small sun bed mattresses, like you get in the Caribbean.

The only entertainment in the evening was our little girl. She was too young for the kids club and they have no teenager/adult entertainment. You need to have a proper bar area by the main reception. It was far too hot under the canopy area where the kids entertainment was. I would like to add the gym is very dated and some of the equipment has had it's day. It should be open earlier than 9am. I would have liked to have gone in at 7am before my little girl woke up. There is also a young lady who works on reception in the gym who is very very rude. She demanded I leave the gym, I had come to get the room key from my husband but cos I was not in gym gear I had to leave. She needs to be a bit more understanding and not ignorant.

I will not be going back to this hotel but families with older kids I understand why you do.

Dear guest,

We thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback about your stay in our hotel through Tripadvisor. We take feedback very seriously as it is a great instrument to improve the quality of our hotel and customer satisfaction as well.

We have carefully read your review and would like to inform you that we have received new equipment for the gym and this area is an adult only area were we kindly ask to wear sport shoes and bring a towel from the room. Turning to the point of our animation team, we are very surprised to hear that the animation was not satisfying as it is recognized by all of our guests and their reviews as one of the best parts of our hotel. The animation team offers during the day and in the evening a every day changing program for adults, kids and teenagers.

Once again, we reiterate the importance of your feedback as we have taken good note of it and will use it to improve.

Kind Regards,
The Guest Service Manager

Like a previous review I agree in the main with the review that its like a 'cross between a zoo and a market place'

I dont think this is a 4 star hotel in any way shape or form.

The room we had was in serious need of a complete renovation, the walls and celing were in need of a serious repair the furniture was old and dated. The handle fell off the toilet door and despite several requests it took 2 days for them to repair it and only after the maid complained on our behalf.

The grounds are probably the best part of the complex as they at least do make and effort to keep these decent and clean.

They have an adult only pool which for a family resort I find peculiar to say the least especially as like us they put families with younger children into rooms that open up straight onto this pool and then come round and tell you to get you child out when they go swimming in it, as happened to us on our first day there.

The food is reasonable but the is self service and at times can be a free for all and a bit chaotic!!!

Stragely they have an adult only section of the main restaurant too and when you enter the restaurant in the evening they seat you at the table they want to you, imagine our suprise when one night we were seated in this section. Upon questioning this as we had a 12 year old with us they said its ok hes a big boy its no problem............the same manager who had asked us to get him out of the pool!!!!

The staff though are good and try very hard and that is the biggest plus for this hotel i can really say.

Dear Guest

Thank you for sharing your individual experience on Tripadvisor.

We regret that we could not provide you with the experience you were expecting.

Suite Hotel Atlantis Fuerteventura Resort is an official 4 star suite hotel. This means that the room sizes comply with the larger required size to earn the “suite” classification. The hotel could be described as a small village due to the size and number of facilities contained within: there are 7 pools, 5 bars, 3 restaurants, a theatre, a spa and a miniclub. The grounds are 65,000 square meters in area, 15,000 of which are devoted to tropical gardens. Some 5 star hotels do not have some of these features.

If guests are dissatisfied with their room and they come to us with this request we always try and accommodate them in another room. Furthermore, the hotel has a guest service available to contact on the hotel phone or at reception, we always try our utmost to keep our guest happy.

Across the 3 restaurants in the hotel we strive to provide quality and variety for our guests. There are various themed nights in the main restaurant Gaudí, with 42 courses served at every sitting, and further variety provided by the Asian Rambutan restaurant and the Spanish El Molino. At every service there is show cooking to ensure clients can see their food being prepared to taste.

Once again we are sorry that you felt let down by your experience.

Best regards

Absolutely great holiday. Me and my boyfriend went for our first holiday together and we couldn't of chose a better place to go. On our arrival late evening time the reception staff were very helpful letting us know about the apartment and the hotel grounds showing us on the map where our room would be. They offered to take our luggage to our room while we went to the restaurant for a bite to eat but it had been a long day so we chose to take them ourselves and go to our room.

The room overall was great, in a quiet area which I highly recommend putting in a request for. Excellent maid service, always cleaned to a high standard each day! Fresh towels if you wanted and plenty of toilet roll!

Booked the Oasis Park zoo through our Thomas cook rep, and it was a brilliant day out apart from the last couple of hours. The coach picked us up at 9:10am and we got there about 10:30 and the coach was setting off back to the hotel at 18:00 meaning we had a few hours near the end of the day just trying to waste a bit of time before the coach back, apart from that I would suggest this for a day out if you're interested!

Nothing wrong with the food, just most of it was fish based and some things being a little strange looking but there was always pasta to rely on! Amazing deserts, ice cream and little cakes. Good drinks service, at the bars at night and in the restaurants. Our room was round the pool with the tropic bar meaning that we were able to sit round the pool and get as many drinks as we liked!

Only down sides were a few ants crawling around in our room, but we solved that my spraying them with a little bit of hairspray. Only other thing was there was a thunderstorm one night and we woke up to a puddle by the door where it had flooded and come under the door!

Didn't go to any of the night entertainment as we did different things like going for walks and walking up to the town looking round the shops, only a 15-20 minute walk. As we came back to our room at night we noticed that the entertainment was very lively and there were a few people watching as it was a popular place on a night! Didn't go in all the pools as we found the one nearest us was the quietest so we settled for that!

Would recommend this hotel to anyone, brilliant place for couples, families or friends.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your insightful and comprehensive review of the hotel generously shared on Tripadvisor for other users.

We are glad to see that could provide you with a satisfactory holiday experience overall, and that you discovered a lot to do in Corralejo itself. Thank you for your kind comments about the staff, as it is always great to know when one’s work is appreciated.

It is great that you enjoyed the food across the 3 restaurants; we try to bring a special service to the client with various themed nights at the Gaudí, as well as 42 courses served at a time and show cooking at every service. The themed restaurants also offer each a unique ambient experience and a different style of cuisine.

It would be our utmost pleasure to welcome you back once again.

Best regards

The whole week was fantastic from start to finish. On arrival we were checked in swiftly and informed the restaurant was still open for a quick bite to eat, it was around 10pm.
There are 3 restaurants, 2 which require that you book but this was never a problem. We ate during the day mainly in the Rambutan which always had freshly cooked burgers and hot dogs with chips which as you can imagine the kids enjoyed. There was also a sandwich bar. The evening food included roasts(lamb, pork, turkey) most nights with fresh salmons, king prawns along with plenty of cold meat in the salad bars. There is also a part of the restaurant for adults only. This is a fairly large hotel but have 6 swimming pools dotted around the complex. It was the height of summer and fully booked but you didnt need to be up at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed, although they were some booked out with towels before 8am.
The all inclusive was great with plenty of food available, tea, coffee, ice cream (during the day and not just for children) wine, beer, spirits and cava but the only gripe is the bar staff need to learn how to make cocktails. There is plenty of entertainment around the hotel during the day or you could go across the street to the beach or a 15 mins walk into Corralejo. Which if you dont want to walk back, costs 3 euros 50 to get back by taxi.
Just a note that although there is pool towels, you have to pay a deposit of 20 euros and anytime you wished them changed was 1 euro. Can be expensive if you are a family of 4/5. The room was great with a large livingroom, separate bedroom and bathroom. Room 5217 overlooked the pool near the sauna/fitness centre and was quiet at night.
Brilliant hotel and I would go back anytime.

Room Tip: This is only a 2 storey high buildings/blocks and room 5217 was great for one of the swimming pools...

booked this hotel as usual after reading reviews on trip advisor. As a experienced traveller when a hotel is rated as 4* one expects certain standards, but my view is that this hotel was most definitely not 4*.

To make things easier I will write in headings

Hotel Generally: It is in need of renovation and repair. It is old and tired, rooms are dated, customer service could be better and there are about 6 pools all scattered around the complex with no main focal point really. what you get involved in in terms of activities really depended on where your room was based which will determine what pool you are most likely to use. the hotel is like a little village, felt very impersonal.

Rooms: we stayed in what was supposedly a superior suite, but there was nothing superior about it. still has old style block TV wit limited English channels, nothing spectacular or wow about it, very basic. has a kitchenette with a kettle, coffee maker and a fridge with several cupboard and that's about it. bathroom was clean but you could see the tiles coming off, the tap looking old and tired and coming off the walls. Shampoo and shower gel in one, did not use as it was most likely to dry your skin. room was cleaned everyday. the sofa bed was used for the kids, we asked that it be folded back into a chair, and we never saw the other cushion again as that was missing.

Pools: there are 6-7 pools around the complex. each is placed in a particular spot around the resort. there is a main activities pool, an adult only pool. there are no slides for the children in the pool or no designated children's pool which was a shame.

Kids Club: the brochure and website described there being a kids club and a tens clubs. My 4 year refused to stay at the kids club which was very basic and staff not very friendly. Teens club, we never saw this at all. the clubs are only open during the day and close at 5 with a break in between in the day

Entertainment: there was evening entertainment everyday and this was done by the animation team who worked hard and tried their hardest. My view they could do with professional entertainment. there is an adult only bar, open until 12pm, but there is no entertainment and the all inclusive options are very limited there. Kids entertainment very limited. there is 2 floodlit tennis courts and a spa

Food: absolutely terrible. it was not presented nicely, very salty, very limited choices, the vegetables not worth eating as all nutritional values had been taken out as they were literally grey. we spent most of our evenings out which was a shame as we had paid all inclusive. children had very limited choice.

there is the main restaurant Gaudi that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, then 2 theme restaurants Rambutan which is Asian and El Molino which is Spanish. there is no waiter service, you are expected to get your own drinks, service during the seating times was like being at the Zoo, children all over, not supervised, very noisy, like a market place.

Rambutan serves breakfast until 11 which was fine, and then lunch as well and it also does hot dogs and burgers and sandwiches if you can bear the taste. no proper sausage during breakfast and the food choices were just abmismal. I can only imagine what it most be like if staying there for 2 weeks

El Molino was ok, you had waiter service during dinner and the food was manageable. Both El Molino and Rambutan have to be booked and this is between 9 and 10.30 only in the mornings. no waiter service at Rambutan during dinner

wine taste like cat pee and it felt like being liberated when we went out and had proper food and decent wine.

the plaza serves drinks until 12, it does the usual cocktails but again not to a good standard which was disappointing.

Miscellaneous: If you don't like ironing and you need to, Iron is on hire at 3 euros a day, but you have to hire minimum 3 days. Internet is not free, you have to pay 9 euros a day or 25 euros a week. there are computers in the reception at 1 euros for 6 minutes and you get 30 minutes free a day if you get to the plaza in a 24 hour period.

pool towel you have to leave a deposit of 20 euros per person, can only change the towels once and any other time it is 1 euro if you want to change.

safe is 13.80 euros for a week and a deposit of 30 euros

Conclusion: Will not visit again, I can't see how they got a 4* rating, too noisy with too many children who are not supervised, very loud, very brash, hotel needs complete renovation and very poor, if you can avoid stay away.
